Ottawa Senators Are Looking To Add A 'Pure Sniper,' But Who Is Left To Target?
Ottawa Senators GM Steve Staios feels good about the work they've done this off-season, but he would still love to add a "pure sniper." The issue is that there aren't many available at the moment.

I mean, the Philadelphia part of it made a lot of sense, but, but this might have been sort of a corollary to the Karlsson situation because Philadelphia was essentially frozen until they found out whether Karlsson was gonna sign or, or get They were gonna get him or not get him.
I don't think Giroux wanted to wait around too long.
I know Elliotte Friedman reported that Giroux had his best offer was Toronto in terms of money, and as soon as I heard that, I said, "That, that basically was floated out there, I'll bet you, by his agent to get Ottawa."
'Cause on top of Alfredsson, if Giroux goes to Toronto, people, on top of the Tkachuk going to Florida, people in Ottawa would be losing their minds.
So I'm not surprised he's back in Ottawa.
I mean, he's a good veteran.
I think he wants to finish his career there.
He's from Hearst, Ontario, which is very close to Ottawa.
So it made a lot of sense that, for them to give him an incentive-based contract.
So good signing, but I wasn't, I was- didn't think he was gonna go anywhere else other than Ottawa.
