Packers Blast Officiating After 20-17 Loss to Lions Snaps Win Streak
The Green Bay Packers are blaming the officials after a 20-17 loss to the Detroit Lions ended their three-game winning streak. Safety Xavier McKinney said questionable penalties killed Green Bay's momentum and kept Detroit drives alive, and he said he would risk a fine to say so. The Packers were flagged eight times for 81 yards. One was a roughing the passer call with 2:45 left that added 15 yards to an 18-yard gain and drew criticism from Tom Brady, and coach Matt LaFleur questioned an unnecessary roughness penalty. The refs weren't the only problem, though: a missed field goal with 3:25 remaining set up the Lions' winning drive.
