Phillies' Latest Roster Move Leaves Fans Bewildered
What exactly are the Philadelphia Phillies doing here?

So the Phillies made a couple of strange September call-ups on Tuesday, bringing up catcher Rafael Marchan and pitcher Grant Holman.
Now, for Marchan, I'm not really sure what the purpose of this move was, considering that we know Marchan does not really bring anything to the table that J.T.
Realmuto or Garrett Stubbs do, or don't.
And the Phillies already have those two catchers in Realmuto and Stubbs.
They need a third catcher on a roster.
And as far as Grant Holman's concerned, he has two years of big league experience with the Athletics, but pitched very poorly both those years in '24 and '25.
I'm not sure why they feel the need to call him up when they have other options that they could have brought up out, out their minor league system.
So, I mean, they, they, they traded away Tommy Pham to start the week.
They could have brought him up, an experienced bat off the bench.
I understand that he's not quite the player he once was, but he has a very good postseason track record, and, you know, he's an experienced veteran hitter and he, and he's proven himself in October.
Marchan really I'm not, I'm not sure what value he provides.
U-unless the Phillies are so worried about a, an injury to one of their catchers, I'm not sure what value Marchan will provide here in September.
And Holman, you know, maybe we'll, you know I'll be wrong and he'll come in and light it up out of the bullpen, but I'm just not seeing that.
So definitely a couple unexciting call-ups for Philadelphia.
They've been playing some of their best baseball of the year lately, so hopefully it won't matter.
But yeah, I, I definitely think they missed a boat on Tommy Pham.
By trading him to the White Sox for cash considerations, that to me was, was not the best move.
