Phillies' Luis Arraez Dilemma is Becoming Painful
The Philadelphia Phillies have a massive decision to make with Luis Arraez.

So the Phillies are facing quite a dilemma with Luis Arraes heading into the off-season.
They acquired Arraes at the trade deadline in a deal with the Giants, getting arguably the best hitter on the market at the time.
And since Arraes has arrived in Philadelphia, he's been very good.
He has a seven-game hit streak going right now, including three multi-hit games, two of those featuring three hits.
And perhaps not so coincidentally, the Phillies have won six games in a row.
The problem is that Arraes is headed toward free agency in the off-season, and the Phillies have been a little bit tighter with their finances recently.
Remember last off-season, they signed Brad Keller and Dallas Garcia, both of whom are out for the season now, and that was it.
And they did try to sign Boban Chev, but he spurned them for the Mets.
So will they be able to shell out the kind of cash needed to bring back Arraes this winter?
Now, Arraes, the three-time batting champion, definitely one of the best pure hitters in all of baseball, and there's no question he changes the complexion of the lineup when he's in there.
So they should absolutely try to re-sign him, but we'll see if they have the resources to do so.
They have a lot of long-term contracts on the roster, and let's face it, a lot of their guys are aging.
So a lot of this, you know, their decision on, on Arraes will depend on how things go in the postseason for Philadelphia this year, assuming they get there.
If they get knocked out early again, they may look to try and blow things up this winter.
But if they have a deep playoff run, they've really got to consider re-signing Arraes, regardless of how much it costs.
The problem, though, is they also need an outfielder.
They need other pieces.
There's a lot of things they need to do this winter, and I do think re-signing Arraes should be on tap for Philadelphia, assuming that they are still a contending team by then.
