Players The Cubs Could Sell At The Trade Deadline
Plunging standings and a depleted rotation may force Chicago into a fire sale, putting veteran stars, expiring contracts, and high-value arms on the trade block this July.

What is up, Cubs fans?
And welcome back to Cubs Roundtable.
I'm Joey Polizzi, talking about all things Cubs.
And a lot of the talk around the Cubs at this year's trade deadline will be about adding starting pitching, potentially adding a bullpen arm.
But what in the chance is there that the Cubs are actually sellers at this year's trade deadline?
With the Cubs continuing to drop games and continuing to fall in the National League Central standings, there is a chance that the Cubs do become sellers at this year's trade deadline.
If the Cubs are sitting nine and a half, 10 games back of the Brewers by late July, early August, the Cubs could be looking to sell some of their players that are on expiring deals.
Here are some players the Cubs could be selling if they do become sellers and continue to drop in the standings.
The two biggest players would be Ian Happ and Seiya Suzuki, but the Cubs can, can't trade either player without their consent.
Both have full no trade clauses, so they have to both agree to trades if they wanna be dealt.
Who knows if it happens, but both players could accept a deal if the Cubs do become sellers.
The next player is Carson Kelly.
Carson Kelly has been a great all-around catcher for the Cubs in each of the past two seasons, and he is on the last year of his two-year deal with the Cubs, and any contending team would definitely like to have Carson Kelly's services here down the stretch.
Then there's the three starting pitchers, Shorya Minaga, Jameson Taillon, and Matthew Boyd.
All are in the final year of their deal with the, the Cubs, and all are gonna be free agents after this 2026 season.
Shorya Minaga is probably the most valuable of the bunch, and while Boyd and Taillon can provide some starting pitching depth for other teams in the race for the playoffs.
But I do think the Cubs would sell one, maybe two of these starting pitchers if they do fall out of the race.
And the last kind of bunch, group, that the Cubs, you know, will trade is they'll have a fire sale on, on their bullpen.
You know, pitchers like Jacob Webb, Trent Thornton, Hunter Harvey, Caleb Thielbar, Hobie Milner.
These guys are all in the la- one-year deals.
They're all on one-year deals, and the Cubs could get rid of them.
And also, maybe a team takes a chance on Phil Mann, who has had a rough start to his Cubs tenure this year.
