Raiders DE Keyron Crawford 's Raw Transition & Mindset
Video Transcript
It's still early, but how do you feel that your transition from college ball to pros since then?
Uh, I can honestly I've gotten better each and every day.
Uh, I started off pretty rocky just because, uh, the mindset, the expectations, and the pressure that I've built on myself, but also just being able to stick to what I'm told and be able to like fall back on your training and not worry about anything else and to just go out there and play fast and be physical is the main one.
Is there anything that surprised you about the process so far?
Uh, not really.
It's just more so of the, uh, the, the inner thoughts and the, the mindset because the men the mental aspect can be a big part of everything.
So if you really just take, take everything out and no worries, no, none of that, like you'll be fine.
What helped you kind of break out of that mentality of pressure on yourself?
Uh, I was just going back and watching my old tape, remembering the guy that they drafted, remembering like I'm here for a reason.
Everything happens for a reason, and just going out and like say it and just like, you know, just go play fast, your college tech , yeah, yes sir.
You, uh, you went through a little bit of an injury.
Was that, was that tough mentally to kind of, you're trying to ramp up for a season, you have to kind of take a step back.
Uh, it was, it was just protocol.
I had to, uh, just deal with it, so just I was hell of a happy to get back.
What was that, uh, was that first preseason game.
Uh, it was, uh, it was fine.
I actually did like, as I was saying, like, yeah, each and every day like that game just took a stride.
I feel like I played fast, physical, and hard, and like that's, that's who I am.
So just being able to do that and being able to be a part, uh, be, being able to be apart with the guys, it, it was fun.
What was the game speed like for you going into the, the NFL first half?
Uh, it, it, it was good.
It was good.
It was good because we were playing drives and series, so coach was trying to, he was trying to wear us out.
