Raiders QB Kirk Cousins Breaks Down Brock Bowers & Offensive Line Struggles

Video Transcript

Um, I felt like, you know, I felt like today was the reason why we come here.

I think it's good to get work in a different environment against a different unit, against a little bit different scheme, um, have to see something different, and, um, I thought we got a lot out of it.

There's going to be a lot to talk about , which is what you want, coming back, watching the tape, being able to say, hey, this wasn't good enough.

I can be better here.

So, um, productive day, you know, probably would have liked to have finished a little stronger, but, um, made some plays in the first few periods that we're, we're pleased with and um.

We'll keep building from here.

How do you feel like the offense as a collective has gelled so far at this point?

Yeah, no, there's a good gel.

There's a good command of the system.

I think it's now about like today as you see new opponents, new, new scheme, you know, being prepared for those specific looks and owning the new adjustments we make, and then.

Um, continuing to build, you played around a lot of really good tight ends, but Brock Bowers is kind of just a different beast.

What are some, you know, some similarities or some differences that Brock Bowers has to any other tight end you've worked with so far?

Well, I, I, I'm really impressed with him as a person, um, you know, certainly a great player.

Everybody knows that, but from a distance you don't get to know him as a person, and um, You know, he's always detailed on his routes.

He, he just takes care of himself.

He's a pro and he's the kind of guy that you say, all right, if we do our part, getting you the football, you stay healthy, the sky's the limit, and, um, you know, we just gotta, we just got to take it one day at a time and keep giving him those opportunities to help us.

You knew that this wasn't going to be a day at the, at the park, nor did you want it to be, um, and there were some struggles on the protection end of things .

When it comes to that offensive line and your communication with them and just where they are, what do you think today told you about where you guys are on the offensive?

Yeah, I think we'll have to watch it, but I do think that that edge, like you said, we kind of knew that this would be a good test for us.

Um, I think we can also talk about, you know, how, how can we help them, you know, how can I help them, because it's a tall task.

Nobody really can just drop back and take 7 set drops play after play after play against any rush in the NFL, let alone these guys.

So, um, we asked a lot of them today and it'll be a really good film to go watch.
