Raiders WR Jack Bech Post Loss to 49ers Presser Preseason Week 3

Video Transcript

Jeff, uh, first of all, man, how do you feel about today's game overall?

Yeah, like I said, even though it's a preseason, you know, we want to come out here and win.

Uh, you know, that's the expectation.

That's the standard for us to come win.

We didn't get the job done, but, uh, you know, it's time to get in there tomorrow, get in there Saturday, watch a film, see what we can improve on, um, and be ready for week one.

Are you ready for, uh, the regular season?

Yeah, 100%.

You know this whole team is, you know, uh, we've been putting in a lot.

Work we we just can't wait for week one to come, for us to be able to go out there, put our best foot forward, um, you know, do that day in, day out, uh, like I said, improve on what we can improve on from this game, bring it to the next, uh, you know, bring it to week one.

Jack, we've seen the improvement on the field this offseason and through training camp for you, but entering the offseason, where was the one area in your mind that you felt like you had to get better?

Yeah, I think just the speed of the game, being able to see the different defenses, whenever seeing the rolling safeties, you know, there's so much, um, that I can say to work on, you know, it's, it, this game is a game that challenges you each and every day, you know, no matter if you're the best, um, or not, you know, no matter if you're, you know, the top guys in the league, you know, you gotta come in here each and every day.

You got to go to work each and every day, but you know there's a million things, you know, just working on all the little fundamentals, um, seeing leverages of DBs and what defenses like to do with the film, and you know just so many different things.

In what ways has the coach, this new coaching staff helped you out through middle school?

Well, they've been fantastic, just all the role models, you know, from the coaches just being, first of all, just being.

Men of Christ, um, you know, just setting the expectation, the standards that we have in the building each and every day of relentless effort, the relentless will to win, um, you know, just holding us to it, that expectation each and every day, calling guys out, letting nobody snap slack.

It's really been great and everybody's growing a lot from it.

Last compared to last year's offense and, uh, you know, last season, how do you feel like where you're at right now under Clint Kubiak heading into week one?

Yeah, like I said, it's great, you know, they really put their guys in the best, uh, position to succeed, you know, they, they, they really, um, you know, put light on what the guys can do best and really put that within the offense to help the whole team, um, to help the, the, the offense get rolling.

So like I said, we're all super excited for week one.

How you describe Mendoza's ability to come through camp and do this now and assess his development?

Yeah, no, he gets better each and every day.

He comes in , one of the first ones in, one of the first ones to leave, ready to work, you know, he's just so super consistent in the way he studies film, the way he goes out to work each and every day, the way he composes himself out there on the field.

You can see from OTAs to now just his composure out there on the field, just being able to stay calm, get through his reads, his progressions, and put the ball where it needs to be.
