Rasmus Højgaard reflects on record-tying round at Rocket Classic
Danish golfer Rasmus Højgaard tied the Detroit Golf Club record of 61 in the third round of the 2026 Rocket Classic, Saturday, Aug. 1.

Had that 32-foot putt on 16 and that par on 17.
Those two holes have been giving a lot of golfers trouble th- this weekend.
What is it about those two that you were able to, to master today?
Yeah, I think, I think that, that stretch of holes, especially where the flags are today, it's I, I, I just played it into the middle of the greens.
You know, if I, if I pulled it a little bit and, and, and it got close, great.
But if not, I feel like I just, just played my chances by giving myself maybe it's only a 25-footer and it turned out to be, you know, 34 or something like that.
But then, you know, you j- you try to hit a good putt and, yeah, for me today, they just, they rolled in.
So, yeah, it was, it was great.
And obviously 17 is, got away with that one.
And, how are you feeling about your chances for the rest of the weekend?
I mean, I'll have to see where I'm, where I'm at at the end of the day.
But, yeah, if I can play somewhat, somewhat of what I did today, I'd, I'd, I'd like my chance tomorrow.
But again, I'm not, I'm not too, too focused on that.
You know, today I stayed, I stayed present.
I didn't get ahead of myself and, yeah, that's the game plan for tomorrow.
