Usa Today was on the ground here in Atlanta on Monday, June 15th, for a top-notch match between Spain and Cape Verde, and it ended exactly the way we all thought it would: scoreless.
That's right, at the end of 90 minutes, it was 0-0.
What a defensive performance from both clubs.
Spain stood tall, and so did Cape Verde as well, in its first World Cup appearance, and the star of the match was its goalie, Vozinha.
Vozinha had seven saves at 40 years old, a stellar performance on the world's largest stage.
And for Spain, they stood tall against a very tough defensive attack by Cape Verde.
Now both teams will look to move on in the group stage.
He said it means, everything to him because this is the s- the first time that we come to the World Cup.
It means a lot.
It means the 1%, you know?
So it's, it's a lot for us.
We never thought that we ever would be here, and we're here, and I can't describe the how happy the whole country is.
