Reddick on 'very odd issue' that resulted in last-place finish
Tyler Reddick discusses his frustrating race from Sonoma where he went multiple laps down early after a power steering issue and leaves second in points.

Unfortunately, a really difficult day for Tyler Reddick.
Last place with a power steering issue.
Tyler, what are the emotions going through your head when you heard that the hood had to come up and there were major issues with the car?
Billy wasn't sure exactly what it was.
Yeah, we were just, we were trying to diagnose it, and, yeah, it, it was just a very odd, odd issue.
yeah, for us it, coming into the pit stall, I don't know, everything seemed fine.
And when we left the pit stall, that first green flag cycle, just a lot of issues in the steering, just really notchy power steering going in and out, like it was getting bound up.
So, yeah, I didn't know what was going on.
I didn't know if we had a, a wheel issue or what it was at first.
but all the wheels were, were good and it was just really, really hard to make any kind of lap time with it.
So, I don't know.
I think I, I s- it, it's so hard to say in hindsight if we made the right decision or not to, to work on it.
I definitely don't think I would've been, you know, within seconds of, of the pace.
So, I think either way we were, we had a difficult road ahead.
So, I don't know.
I think I do, I do feel good that it was nice that, we did decide to pit there, work on it, so we were able to get the XFINITY fastest lap out of the day at least.
so that was the, the tough thing.
You know, we, we still continued to fight some s- a little bit of a power steering issue in our Palmetto Toyota Camry.
but it was kind of bittersweet.
We were able to get the fastest lap and have that kind of speed even though we were having slight steering issues to finish the race out.
One point now behind Denny Hamlin.
He takes over with a 26th place finish.
Still pretty tight though, and a lot of racing left.
Yeah, you know, I, I'd say we got pretty fortunate today.
you know, he was running really, really good.
Something happened, don't really know what it was, but, you know, I saw him coming out of the dirt right in front of me there.
so all things considered for the issues that we had, we, we were very fortunate to really only lose, nine points on the day, or, or eight points on the day to, to Denny finishing dead last.
So, it is what it is.
We'll take it, we'll move on, and we'll do everything we can at, at Chicagoland to get back the lead.
