Welcome in to Bama Central's just a minute, and Hunter, we are just literally days away now from Alabama opening the 2026 season against Eastern Carolina.
East Carolina, excuse me, I don't want to misname them.
And really for the last couple of years, it's kind of been a tradition for me.
I don't know how many years, but I kind of make a prediction on who will score Alabama's first.
Touchdown of the season .
Now, this is just a prediction.
Obviously, Hunter, nor neither Hunter nor I know who will score the first touchdown.
If we did know that, I don't know if either of us would be doing this job if we had the power to see who would score the first touchdown for Alabama, but I'll let you go first, Hunter.
Who do you think will score the Crimson Tide's first touchdown this Saturday and Brian Denny?
Yeah, um, I mean, I try to think about last year's first drive in that it was like 17 plays, something like that.
I don't know if this is gonna be the same thing.
17 plays is obviously tough to replicate, but I do see them driving down the field a good bit, maybe about 8 plays, 9 plays, somewhere around there.
But I would say Lazier Brooks is my pick this year to get the first touchdown.
I'm gonna say it's probably gonna be around like a 15 yard pass from Keyan Russell, new quarterback.
That's my pick for now.
I don't know where he'd be.
Maybe let's go on the, the right side of the end zone, something like that.
Um, yeah, I'm gonna go with him.
There we go, very detailed.
I, I, I think it's not going to be a long drive.
I think it's going to be a quick score, and I'm going to go with Ryan Coleman-Williams.
Hunter will have a cool story coming out on him on Friday, but he's a guy that this offseason has put in a lot of work.
Uh, he's a guy that obviously has that explosive play capability and supposedly Keyen Russell does too.
Obviously, we haven't seen.
A ton of that yet.
And so I think we're gonna see a deep ball from Keyen Russell to Ryan Williams on the first drive of the Crimson Tides 2026 season.
