Seattle Mariners Bring Back Veteran From IL, With Surprising Corresponding Move
J.P. Crawford has been out since early August with a left wrist issue.

JP Crawford reinstated from the injured list on Tuesday before game two of a three-game set against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Crawford hasn't played since July 29th because of left wrist issues.
Three stints on the injured list this year for Crawford.
He's played in just 87 of 132 games.
For the Mariners, this actually means quite a bit when it kind of comes to the lineup and defensive configuration.
So Crawford will come back and play shortstop.
Remember, he had moved to third for Colt Emerson.
Emerson is out, so Crawford will go back to short.
Brock Roden figures to be the backup at shortstop, but Brock Roden could also see time at third.
Why?
'Cause Leo Rivas has been the corresponding move for JP Crawford, and he's been sent down.
Patrick Wisdom and Weston Wilson both survive this roster move.
I imagine both will be in the lineup on Wednesday when the team takes on hard-throwing left-hander Jess Lizardo.
So Wisdom stays on the 26-man roster here as Rivas goes down.
There's a chance that Rivas could be back come September 1st when the rosters expand.
Of course, the Mariners could go with any number of players at that point.
Juan Brenton Donovan could be back by that time.
You also could see, Rivas back.
Ryan Bliss, a third catcher.
There's a lot of different things that can happen come September 1st.
It's a tough break for Rivas, who played pretty well of late.
Three for his last 10, had a walk-off single on Friday, and had a big hit in the ninth inning of Saturday's come-from-behind victory against the Chicago Cubs.
