Seattle Mariners Make Interesting Pitching Decisions Heading into All-Star Break
Coming off a 5-1 homestand, the Mariners are back on the road for a six-game Florida swing to end the first half.

Mariners 47 and 44, they are off on Monday.
They'll take on the Marlins for three games beginning Tuesday, and then they'll take on the Rays for three games beginning on, Friday.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday, that's the end of the first half of the season, so six more games.
And again, the Mariners 47 and 44, a game and a half up in the American League West.
Interesting kind of news and note here, pitching probables are out for the Mariners, at least for Tuesday through Thursday.
The M's are gonna run with Brian Wu on Tuesday, George Kirby on Wednesday, and then Bryce Miller on Thursday.
Nothing really strikes you as out of the ordinary there until you realize George Kirby hasn't pitched since June 29th.
He's gonna go 10 days without throwing.
Now, obviously, there were two off days in there, July 1st and July 6th, so that is part of it.
But Brian Wu, who pitched on June 29th, one day after Kirby, is then going to come back and pitch one day before Kirby on this road trip.
What is the reasoning for that?
There could be any number of reasons, so I don't wanna be conspiracy theory-ish.
You just wonder, okay, what are the reasons?
Does George Kirby need extra time for some reason?
Do the Mariners wanna set up their rotation for after the All-Star break in a certain way?
Do the Mariners want to maybe allow Bryce Miller and Logan Gilbert a chance to pitch in the All-Star Game, so they're structuring their, you know, their outings in a certain way?
I don't know.
I don't know.
Right now, it is solely just speculation.
But it is noteworthy that George Kirby is gonna end up with 10 days between starts at a time when he's been pitching very, very well.
Four straight quality starts and an eight-inning gem against the Angels last time out.
