Seattle Mariners Offense Sputters Again in 5-1 Loss to Boston Red Sox
The Mariners mustered just two hits for the second game in a row and dropped the series against the Red Sox.

Yeah, tough one tonight again.
you know, thought, w- the way that first inning started, you know, it looked like we were gonna To, to get on 'em early and, and, getting that first run was big.
you know, and, I thought the way Emerson was throwing was, was outstanding.
He just, you know, kind of attacking like he does.
I thought, you know, we saw the, the sweeper that he was able to land, the changeup from time to time and, and both heaters I thought, excellent tonight and, you know, just the, the, the sixth inning, you know, came back to get us and, you know, a couple of walks there, you know, a couple of wild pitches and, you know, infield hits and, and, you know, they were able to, to put some runs across the board and, you know, offensively just, after that first inning, you know, it, it just seemed like Early was, you know, unpredictable and, and, you know, difficult to square up at that point and, you know, just, weren't able to get anything significant rolling there, offensively after that first inning and, and, you know, a couple of innings with traffic but, but nothing to, to, to get in and, you know, a tough one again tonight.
I, I thought the, you know, the, the guys that threw out of the bullpen tonight, threw the ball pretty well, you know, towards the end of the game there and, and, kept us right there where, where we, where we were in the score and, and, you know, JP with just an unbelievable play at third base tonight to turn that double play with the glove flip and, But, you know, gotta come back tomorrow and, and, get one, before we head out on the road.
Dan, you mentioned the, the traffic early and how wild Early was.
Was not being able to bring those runs home a matter of just his stuff being unpredictable today or was it something specific that you saw with the at bats?
No, I mean, I think, you know, like I said, he, he was unpredictable.
It was, it was tough to square up and, and, you know, we just, we weren't able to, to get anything going and, and, you know, he, he was a tough customer for us tonight again, and, we saw it last night with Suarez moving the ball around.
you know, Early was, was similar tonight just in a different way and, you know, just weren't able to capitalize when we had opportunities and, and, but, you know, that, that happens from time to time.
We just gotta come out tomorrow and, and, you know, get after him.
