Seattle Mariners Plan in Advance of Trade Deadline Becomes More Clear
The Mariners earned a big win on Tuesday night, and there are five games to go before the deadline.

Mariners had lost five of six entering play on Tuesday.
They ultimately do get a much needed and big victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers, winning seven-six.
They had to hold on at the end.
It got quite squirrely, but the M's hit five home runs in the victory, two of them by Dom Canzone, one by Cal Raleigh, one by Julio Rodriguez, and one by Rob Refsnyder, who was making his first appearance since late June.
He had gone on the injured list with knee discomfort.
So the Mariners now, fifty-three and fifty-five, certainly disappointing, two and a half back in the American League West, one and a half back of the third and final wild card spot.
But despite what you think about them or their chances, according to Al Gonzalez of ESPN, they are prepared to buy at the trade deadline.
They need a reliever.
They need offense of all sorts, particularly a right-handed hitter.
We will see what they're able to get.
It is a limited market for offensive players, particularly right-handed hitters, especially with Spencer Steer and Casey Schmidt injured.
But the Mariners do have some options on the market, including their old trade partners in St. Louis with the Cardinals, who have Ivan Herrera, who could be of potential interest to the M's as well.
Mariners and Dodgers back at it again on Wednesday, seven ten Pacific Time with the first pitch.
Emerson Hancock is on the mound for Seattle.
He's on the trade market, apparently.
Eric Lower, the veteran lefty, will go for the Dodgers.
