Seattle Mariners Starting Pitcher Makes Big Revelation on Tuesday

I am live in Pittsburgh getting ready for the new series between the Mariners and the Pirates, but do have some breaking Mariners news early on Tuesday morning.
Logan Gilbert, on with Seattle Sports 710 early on Tuesday, says that his turn in the piggyback rotation will come Saturday against the Cleveland Guardians.
It's a big series between two playoff contenders and a Guardians team that's battling it out for the AL Central Crown.
But remember, could come down to a Mariners-Guardians tiebreaker when you're talking about a wild card spot or, you know, seeding in the playoffs should both teams get there.
So this is a big series coming up, and the Mariners are throwing Logan Gilbert in to piggyback.
He'll start.
Emerson Hancock will come in relief.
Now, for Gilbert, he's got three consecutive starts over six innings or more, so Mariners fans will certainly be unhappy if he gets pulled while cruising prior to getting six or seven innings in.
Hancock might benefit from the piggyback.
He's got three straight starts of failing to complete six innings, and his ERA has ballooned from the high twos into three point six zero.
So we're at, right around two, three point six zero.
So Hancock also has experience as a piggyback guy, or excuse me, as a reliever.
Remember, he was a reliever down the stretch for the Mariners in 2025, so I'm not really worried about how he'll adjust or warm up.
It's really all about Gilbert and if he'll be able to, or what he'll be able to do in his time and how long the Mariners will give him.
