Number 26 is a man we've talked about a lot in the last 48 hours.
Officially his last appearance on the quarterback countdown.
Yeah.
What a run.
Right?
Aaron Rodgers.
Damn.
So many- This is a special one for you because this was l- like, this was always the guy.
This was number one for- When you got into media when I started doing this.
Yes.
Right.
I mean, he was number one and, and you know, of course I fought back against a lot of people because, you know, everybody was, is, of course, in the Tom Brady goat world at that time.
But it was like, "No, my gosh, Aaron Rodgers in his prime," as, as we talked about earlier, is special.
Yeah, it, it, it is, it hurts kinda to put Aaron Rodgers 26 here, you know?
And when you look at it at times, you're gonna look at it and go, "Yeah, the stats don't really show that it should be 26."
They're a little bit better than that.
But I think everybody should know my concerns and what they are.
I mean, th- this kinda says it right here.
Yeah.
It's lack of aggression.
It's lack of big plays.
It's lack of, you know, it's turning down big throws down the field to just take the sure thing underneath.
And then okay, great, yeah, you got four yards, but there was 30 yards to be had there, and that could've been, you know, the momentum-changing moment or whatever.
Definitely a little jumpy in the pocket, right?
I would say, and I don't know, in some ways, I'm not sure he's n- lesser athlete than Joe Flacco is now.
Right.
Wow.
In running.
Yeah.
I mean, Joe Flacco escapes the pocket to me when I watch back film more than he does, right?
So that, that to me, is why we have him where, where I have him where he is.
I, I, I feel like we've talked about this a lot.
I don't think it's needs to be the biggest breakdown.
And I think what also I dock it a little bit even, maybe even more is just to go, wait, you still got the arm to make throws.
That's what I don't get, and that's what bothers me.
And yeah, I think it's, it's the wrong approach.
And, you know, there's gonna be a guy that we're gonna talk about next who's the exact opposite of that, that people are gonna be shocked that he's in front of him.
And I'm gonna go, "No."
If you sat there and watched the film, you'd go, "Oh my gosh, the guy we're about to talk makes a lot more big throws than one of the greatest throwers we've ever seen of all time in Aaron Rodgers."
So that's where we are, but he still can throw it.
He still can make game-changing throws.
He still can pop his feet and move in the pocket.
Of course, is smart and can manage a game and do well that too, and there is something to that that you gotta value as well.
And so that's where we come down with Aaron Rodgers at, at number 26.
This is expected to be the last time Rodgers appears in the countdown.
In 2018 and 2019, he was the top quarterback on the Simms Countdown.
In 2020 and 2021, he was third.
2022, he was fifth.
2023, he was eighth.
That was the last time he was in the top 10.
He was 14th in 2024, 12th in 2025, and now goes out as 26th for Aaron Rodgers
