Chris Simms and Mike Florio reflect on Simms' first appearance on PFT Live, looking back at some of their favorite memories over 9 years.

The start of my 10th year with Chris Simms as a co-host.

10th season.

And true football guys don't care about the eclipse.

So Chris Simms, welcome.

This is your initial test.

Are you a football guy?

If you care about the eclipse, you're not.

If you don't, you are.

I don't care.

I don't even know what time it happens today.

You're right, I'm too deep in the weeds.

I'm deep in the game right now.

I can't I don't have time for eclipses.

What, am I gonna take time out of my day to look up at the sun and hurt my retina?

I'm not gonna do that yet.

Wow.

Wow is right.

Holy crap.

Wow.

Now, that was only nine years ago.

Yeah.

This is our 10th season.

Yeah.

So that was nine years ago.

First of all, I look like I probably weighed 230 at that time.

You're a little chubby wubby there.

Probably closer to 190.

A little chubby Mikey, Mike.

And can, can we get a still sh- I, you know, I think your son looks a lot like you, and you, like, that's that looks more like your son- than it looks like you.

I know.

I, it is, it, it is.

It's just nine years ago, it's crazy.

And man, my hair, I can't take it.

And holy crapola, I must've been going to the school of, I don't go out and see the sun either.

I look very white and pale there.

But, but yeah.

And then you, what are you, like, trying to sit on top of the microphone over there?

Look like you're, like, Ed "Too Tall" Jones?

I mean, can you get any higher there?

And then it looks like you're, like, sitting up, and you're, like, squeezing your shoulders up.

It is a horribly awesome picture.

Yeah.

Well, I, I think it was probably just because I knew this giant had shown up to be the co-host, so you know, I had to- I had to try to get the most out of what I'm working with.

I guess so.

So.

I, I ca- I just can't believe that it has been that long.

Yeah.

Because I sit in the same seat every day.

It's the same view every day.

That part of it has not changed.

It has been constant.

But one day after another, one week after another, one month after another, one year after another, here we are.

And they still let us do this.

That's what's amazing.

See, I think we benefit from the fact that we have a following, but it's not so intense that when we say something really stupid, it blows up.

Like, there may be others who have found themselves with a sufficiently large following, that if they say or do something objectively stupid, it creates a problem for them.

Sometimes for us it does, but not to the extent that it seems to be for others.

Well, I, yeah, I, I hear you.

But I'd like to get to that point, actually.

So, let's, let's, let's work on it.

I mean, if you're, if you're talking about McAfee and all that, I'll, I'll take $60 million a year, and, uh- Well- say some things and get some backlash.

I don't give a damn.

So let's try to grow it to that, okay?

Now, there, there's two ways of looking at it.

You can be the person who doesn't really care about the backlash, or you can pretend you don't care about the backlash, but you deeply are tormented by it.

So I truly don't care about it.

It just complicates my life when I have these idiots on social media who will rip a clip from our show, steal our content, and mischaracterize what we say, or fail to understand the broader context, or just completely warp our words, whether it's intentionally or whether it's because they lack the cognitive ability to understand what we're trying to say.

I know it's on us to make our point, but it's also on the audience to at least apply some basic intelligence to understand the words we are saying.
