Siroky sprints to title in 50m breaststroke
McKenzie Siroky swam sub-30 seconds (29.99) to secure the national title in the women's 50m breaststroke at the USA Swimming National Championships.

Good start by Saroki.
She has that easy early speed.

She was second at the NCAAs in the 100.
Kinda bunched up there a little bit.
Saroki might be inching ahead.
Little bit more aggressive on the turnover.
Saroki surging her way to the forefront, has a little separation, and good enough to get it done.
29.99 seconds, the victory for her by about three-tenths over Piper Engle, who snakes in there for second with a lifetime best.
Yeah, what a swim by Piper Engle to get in there and get second with that PB.
But Saroki, again, the finishes have been so tough here early on in these 50s, and when it comes to the 50, it's this right here, the start.
You can see right there, that's Saroki.
What she does so well is comes up and is so dynamic on that front end.
But I don't know what it is about the finish, man, because it's so critical.
It comes down to a perfect finish if you're going to have the victory, if you're going to have a best time.
Remember, she was 29.8.
She would've been faster than that, but watch the finish right here.
She just is a little bit of a half stroke.

Just thinking about keeping my chest forward, getting my hands on the wall pretty much.
You've been one of the best breaststrokers in the distance this year.
What does it take to have a great 50 breast?
First of all, I think it takes support and great coaching staff to understand how to teach me to put that race away, together.
But overall, just practicing the little details and what I can get better at each day.
