Sophie Cunningham names 20-year-old Storm star she’d love to have on the Fever
Sophie Cunningham has revealed that she would like to see a 20-year-old Seattle Storm star join the Indiana Fever, highlighting the player as someone she admires.

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham made her interest in playing alongside Seattle Storm rookie Awa Pham clear, praising the twenty-year-old center before Indiana's matchup with the Toronto Tempo.
Pham has made an immediate impact in her first WNBA season, averaging 10.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
The Spanish center is also regarded as a long-term prospect after entering the league at just 19 years old.
Asked about Pham by a Spanish reporter, Cunningham praised the rookie's athletic ability, shooting, and versatility.
"She's very athletic and young.
She has potential.
I would love to have someone like that on my team," Cunningham said.
Cunningham also explained why Pham is difficult to defend, pointing to her ability to stretch the floor despite her size and length.
"She can spread the court even though she's so tall and long, and she can shoot the ball pretty well," Cunningham said, adding that she is a big fan of her.
The reporter then asked Cunningham directly whether she would like to have Pham as a teammate.
Cunningham responded by inviting the Storm rookie to join Indiana, telling her to, "Come on," to the Fever.
Pham's numbers against Indiana this season show why she has attracted attention.
In two games against the Fever, she averaged 13.5 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and 1.5 blocks while shooting 45.5% from three-point range.
She has also led all WNBA rookies in rebounds and blocks this season, further highlighting her impact during her first year.
Despite Cunningham's comments, a move to Indiana would be difficult.
Pham remains part of Seattle's young core.
Fever would likely have to make a significant trade offer to acquire her.
Seattle currently has a 7 to 30 record and is positioned to add another high draft pick in the 27 WNBA draft.
Pham is part of that rebuilding group alongside Dominique Malonga and Flaujae Johnson.
For now, Cunningham's comments remain a public expression of admiration for the young center while Pham continues her rookie season in Seattle.
