The doors to The National just opened.
It's absolute chaos as the biggest line ever is now going inside the show.
The crowd is at a record-breaking all-time high.
More people than ever before, and that means more cards than ever before.
So I'm ready to go in right now and get started.
Let's go.
It is good to be early when you come to The National because the best items on the show floor will be the first ones that people seek out and buy.
So I am happy to be here as the show is opening, but I got to get to work.
I wanna find those best cards and those deals right now before all of these people are able to get to them.
So I'm barely in the front doors and David just stopped me and said he's got a card I have to see.
He says it's, he says it's one for me that I will appreciate.
Yeah.
What we got, David?
Got Durant Topps Now Olympic out of five, Gem 10 auto.
Yeah.
He, he, Da- David knew what he was talking about.
Look at that.
Look at that, ladies and gentlemen.
The first card to walk up to me on the show floor, and it is a beauty.
A beauty.
I've got, I've got a couple of the Steph Currys- Yeah autographed from the 2024 Olympics.
Yeah.
I don't have Durant.
I actually had the opportunity to buy the superfractor of the, not this version of the card, the other one where he's- Right, right like, actually in the game, and I, I, I passed on it.
Dumb decision.
Should, should not have.
I, that was a couple years ago, right when the cards came out.
Yeah.
The Christmas superfractor.
Passed on it.
This one's pretty special.
Totally.
How long have you had this?
I actually pulled it out of the, out of the Topps Now.
Oh, dude.
Yeah.
You got that.
That's, see, that's awesome to hear.
Yeah.
That is awesome to hear.
Yeah.
Congratulations.
Yeah.
And are you now, you're looking to sell this, you're looking to trade this?
What are you trying to do?
Looking to sell, but I'm open to trading it to something different.
Okay.
I know the, the other version, the action shot, last in a nine, I think 22 or 22.5, something around there- Okay in a BGS 9.
Yeah, I was, I was really silly for passing up on that superfractor- Yeah 'cause I could have bought it for less than what he just said that the out of five sold for.
Yeah, so May 3rd.
Okay.
Did a 22 in a BGS 9.
So how does this one, how does this compare to that typically?
I haven't looked.
I can look here.
So, there, there hasn't been much comps on them, so it's hard to tell.
The- I, I would, I would think the action shot would probably sell for a little bit more, but that's just, that's just- I think it's all preference conjecture on my part.
Yeah.
I'd have to kinda look at sales history to see what they've gone for.
Do you have a number in mind that you wanna get for it?
So the other one did in BGS 9.22.
You know, I'm looking for around 30 for this one.
Around 30?
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, so I'm looking here in Market Movers for other Kevin Durant Olympic sales.
I see what you're talking about.
There's the 5 of 5- Yeah which sold for $22,000.
It's also 5 of 5, I think, yeah?
Yeah, they're both 5 of 5.
That one was in a BGS 9.
I do prefer the action shot a little bit personally.
Right.
But the, I mean, they're both cool.
The red out of 10 recently sold for $12,000, 12,600 in a 9.5.
Yeah.
Let me see.
Okay, so, okay, so there's the 1 of 1.
How long ago was that?
That sold- Recently?
That was, that was, uh- A year ago that was a year ago.
Yeah.
Market's gone up a lot.
That was the 1 of 1.
Yeah.
For $13,000.
And that's really all I'm seeing on that recently.
Yeah.
Yeah, these cards are kinda ghosts a little bit.
Tough to, tough to find.
Yeah.
You know, that, recent comp was the, the 22 was, like, the newest thing that popped up.
Yeah.
But yeah, I'll bring it.
Let's do this.
Would you be, interested, my cards are back at my booth.
Okay.
Would you be interested in walking over there?
Sure.
And I'll show you a few cards that I brought as well to see if it- Sure.
I'd lo- I, I'm interested in doing it.
Yeah.
I think we're in the ballpark on, on price generally.
I would, I would probably be more towards 25 than 30.
Mm-hmm.
But I think we're in the ballpark on price.
Okay.
If we could do, if there's a card that I have and maybe you wanna do, like, part cash, part trade, I would definitely be open to doing it.
Okay.
I'll take a look.
So- All right.
Yeah.
Let's walk back over there.
Sure.
And we'll see if we can get something done.
Sure.
Cool.
See what he might be interested in here.
Pulling some nicer stuff out.
All right, I don't have, I don't have much in the way of, Jordan.
My, most of my Jordan stuff is locked.
I've been buying Jordans.
Right.
Most of my stuff's locked away in my vault.
I did bring that one 'cause it's a duplicate.
Oh, yeah.
You know, not, not the most typical everyday Jordan card in terms of, you know, seeing an auto version of it.
It's actually just a, a four ever have been autographed and authenticated by Jordan.
I'm into the, early career on-card autos.
Mm-hmm.
Like, the, the '80s and the early '90s on-card autos.
Yeah.
I love collecting these because they are so low population.
Right.
And he's unlikely to ever sign that card again.
Right.
So the fact that only four have ever been signed and authenticated by PSA, that one's pretty special.
I got some nice Messi cards.
I don't know if you're a soccer guy at all.
I've got some really nice Ohtani cards.
I don't know if you're into Ohtani at all.
I've got some Wemby here.
I got some, you know, pretty high-end Wemby as well.
Little bit of Caitlin Clark, Sam Darnold, Lawrence Taylor, really nice Joe Burrow.
A nice LeBron Gold Wave Prizm on the, on the Kobe tribute done.
This is most of my high-end stuff right now.
This has been going up like crazy.
These are the short prints, you know, from 2026 Topps.
Yeah.
Those have been insane.
Do you know what the pop on this, and- No has it recently sold?
Probably has.
It's b- there, it's, it's, I mean, it's low compared to some, some cards.
Right.
It's, but it's not, like, it's not, like, ultra rare.
Let me get a scan of the card in Market Movers.
So last sale on it was 16,000.
Mm-hmm.
And pop is 195.
Right.
Mm-hmm.
So, you know, i- if you look at it over the last, uh- Right year, it was actually up quite a bit.
Actually came down a little bit, and then ticked back up, obviously- Right you know, recently.
So yeah, that's about where the market is on that right now.
Right.
So I mean, if that was one you were interested in, I would be open to doing- All right that in cash- All right to get to the Durant.
Yeah, I don't So like, i- if- if I was looking to trade up, it would be something, you know, for my PC that's- Right sort of a low risk long-term hold.
Right.
Something that's, you know, I generally like.
Wouldn't care that much if it went up or down.
Sure.
I'm a Knicks fan, so the Wendy is, sort of Okay.
That's fair.
You know, a- Well, you got, you got the better end of it You got the better end of it this year.
You want, like, his IP Jordan?
This one?
Yeah.
It's just kinda like he's saying, like, good luck getting him to sign a card nowadays, you know?
So it's- That's why I love that stuff.
Yeah.
It's not, it's not great condition, obviously.
No, yeah.
So- It stains.
But with only four of them ever having been signed, it's, I've been, I've been getting as many of those as I can possibly get from all of the different late '80s and early '90s sets, and they've been going up a lot, too.
Like, I was buying up cards like this a few years ago for $2,000, $3,000.
Yeah.
You could find a lot of them.
And now you're looking at, like, often, like, eight grand as, like, an entry point into any Jordan, you know, late '80s in person auto type card.
Right.
Did you look this one up?
I didn't look it up, but I- You have to guess I've literally no idea.
He made a video on this one.
Oh, he did?
I- He recently got a better copy- Correct which is why he's- I bought, I bought a non-stained copy for $12,000 at Fanatics Fest.
Got it.
The last public sale of one of those was a Y, it was, I think, over a year ago.
It was a BGS certified one.
Forget, I forget.
Maybe, might, maybe it was, like, five grand or something like that it went for.
Mm-hmm.
I, I'm asking eight grand on that one.
All right.
I personally would much rather have an on card Jordan, like, late '80s auto, early '90s auto, rather than, like, a, you know, 2003 SP auto or something, like- Yeah post-playing days.
Right.
Like, people pay huge money for those autos from the 2000s- Yeah from a lot of the Upper Deck sets.
I've got one in here.
Was that, oh, you got one in here?
I've got one in here.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
But to me, it's like, he wasn't playing anymore.
Like, I, I, I gravitate towards, like, actual playing days autos and, you know, that kinda stuff, so.
So how are you able to tell if this was signed during his playing days?
Jordan's autograph changed distinctively, I think, about three or four different times over the course of, you know, the last 30 years.
And so, you can, you can tell, you know- You can compare them autograph experts.
I don't profess to be an- I've got one I don't profess to be an expert on this.
Yeah, yeah.
But you can tell by, I know for example, how much he writes out Michael and Jordan, and then how big some of the characters are indicates, like, you know, was it earlier or later.
Yeah, it's very different.
Very different.
Yeah.
Yeah, they look, they definitely look different, you know?
Yeah.
Yes, I mean, I guess I, I'm interested in both cash offer and maybe cash plus this, see what you're willing to do.
Okay.
You know, on both accounts and.
I would offer I would offer, if I'm going to do straight cash, I would offer 24,000 cash.
Mm-hmm.
Or I would offer that card and $18,000 cash.
Mm-hmm.
Which I think gives you a little bit of a better value.
You had this valued at eight, you said?
I valued it at eight.
Yeah.
I mean, I, I, I'm not, I'm not in love, with the card, honestly.
You know, I, I hear everything you're saying.
The auto- Yeah seven sort of scares me away.
I don't love the stain.
Yeah, and that's fine.
I mean, would, would you, you know, I want it to be around 30 on this.
Would you go up to, like, 20 in this?
You know?
I ha- so I have another guy who really, really wants this card, who's been in my DMs and is coming by tomorrow to try to make me a trade offer on it.
So I don't wanna go too low on that, just because I think I can trade it tomorrow for full value of what I'm asking.
I would go, I would go up to 25,000 cash- Right if you just wanted to do straight cash.
Right.
Which I think is, I think that's a pretty good offer, because, like, if you put it out at, if you put it out at auction, you know, what would it get?
Yeah.
May- maybe, maybe it gets 30 at auction.
Maybe.
Right.
but then of course you're paying, you know- Yeah seller's fees and, you know, that kinda stuff, right?
Yeah.
So I think in terms of just, like, straight cash offer, beginning of the show, I think 25,000's pretty- Right pretty good offer on that.
Right.
All right.
So would you, would you rather, I mean, I, I have two options here.
I, I'd either take the 25 on this, or if you wanna bump up to 19 and this.
You know, whichever way you feel more comfortable.
So $19,000 and the Michael Jordan autograph.
Yeah.
Or $25,000- Yeah cash.
Yeah.
I'm good either way on those.
That's a, that's a, that's a, that's a tough decision.
That's a tough decision.
So yeah, I, I think that's worth 8,000, but we are literally 21 minutes into the start of The National.
So now I gotta make a decision as to how much cash do I wanna spend in the first 21 minutes, because we still got five days to go.
We're 21 minutes in, and I'm talking about dropping $25,000 in cash on a card that quickly, that quickly.
I better, I better sell some stuff too- as this show goes on or I'm gonna end up poor about an hour or two into the first day of The National.
Oh my goodness.
You know what I think I'm gonna do?
Because I have another gentleman who really wants that Michael Jordan autograph, and he's coming by tomorrow to make me a good offer on it, I think I'm just gonna give you the 25,000- Okay cash straight for the card.
That works.
Is that good with you?
Yep.
Sounds good.
Awesome doing a deal with you.
Thank you.
You too.
There we go.
First deal of The National since the show floor opened.
Unbelievable.
A card I did not expect to see here, and I found it, and I found it within the first couple of minutes of the show.
You guys are on TikTok.
Yes.
Let's give your TikTok a shout-out for everybody.
So we stream on TikTok.

And there we go.
Let me get you paid out.
Yep.
And then we're gonna get on to the next deal.
So there's a guy who apparently has a complete autographed set of all of the Dream Team.
Hey, this is, this is Jeff Wilson.
How are you doing?
I'll meet you there in the lobby just outside the main entrance.
Okay.
Thank you.
In front of Starbucks.
Yes, in front of Starbucks.
Okay.
So this is, this is a big lead.
So here's what happens.
I posted to Instagram that I was looking for USA Basketball stuff.
This guy apparently owns the complete signed set of the Hoops Dream Team cards.
I don't have those.
I've got another complete signed set.
I've got the Skybox Dream Team complete signed set.
He apparently has the Hoops Dream Team complete signed set.
Those are very rare, the Jordan especially.
Hard to find.
And so this guy messaged me and he said, "Hey, I got this.
I'm coming to the show."
I just connected with him.
I gotta find him right now because if anyone's gonna buy this thing from him, I wanna buy this thing from him.
So I'm gonna work my way out to the lobby and, and hopefully get a deal done.

Need those USA Basketball cards.
I don't know what he looks like.
I'm here.
Who's got, who's got USA Basketball cards?
I need USA Basketball cards.
Dream Team?
Hello.
Hi.
Hey, my friend.
Are you Dave?
Yeah, yeah.
Nice to meet you.
Yeah.
Jeff.
Nice to meet you.
Yeah, yeah.
So I, I've heard y- you, you have the, the Hoop set, right?
The USA Basketball- Yeah the Dream Team Hoop set?
Yeah.
Here's the card.
Yeah.
I, I, unfortunately, I, I, I don't bring it now.
Oh, you don't have it- Yeah, yeah you don't have it with you now?
Yeah.
Still looking to, to sell the set?
Yeah, if the, if the price is right, I think- Okay I would sell it.
What, what is the, what is the right price?
The market price, like, maybe, like, 120K.
That's up from where you had it.
I heard, I heard when you had it stickered out in February it was below that.
Yeah.
It was below that.
I asked for 80K.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I, I, I had heard, yeah, I had heard 70, so 80, yeah, that might be right.
So okay, so the, the Ugh, ugh.
Ugh.
Do you mind if we sit down for a minute?
Let's sit down for a minute.
Sure.
And see, well, let's talk about this.
Yeah.
Let's talk about this.
This will be great.
Yeah.
Okay.
Well, we c- we couldn't, we couldn't find a seat.
Things are a little chaotic here, so we're gonna have to make this do.
Yeah, yeah.
Let's see what we got here.
I see some, I see a 1961 Fleer Wilt Chamberlain right off the bat.
Yeah.
Oh, wait a minute, is that- The- Is that autographed?
Yeah.
You've got a 80s, you've got a 61 Fleer Wilt Chamberlain autographed?
Yeah, I'm trying to go to PSA- That's inc- to grade that's incredibly rare.
Yeah.
So, so I mean, how It was- Okay, so it's certified, it was certified by- Yeah JSA.
But I try to go to PSA, cross to PSA.
You wanna Yeah.
Yeah.
Definitely, definitely- Yeah we wanna get a PSA.
Yeah.
Wow.
That's, um- That's actually a card that's on my bucket list as well- of a card that I wanna pick up.
I've always wanted to get a Wilt Chamberlain- Yeah on-card autograph.
Wow.
Okay.
All right.
Let's see what else we've got here.
Wanna see?
Yeah.
Yeah Yeah.
Let's Oh, my gosh.
We got some cra- oh, we got the Net Rages Jordan.
I love this.
We got Jordan autographs.
Yeah, he's a beast.
Wow.
That's a Ooh, look at that.
Number to 23.
Another beautiful Jordan auto.
My goodness.
Look at, look Wow.
You got quite the collection here.
Oh, my gosh.
That's beautiful.
Oh, wow.
Oh, wow.
This is first Jordan auto made.
Look at that, Rob.
Look at that.
Oh, no.
Look at that.
Oh, look at that, Rob.
Get it.
Beautiful.
Beautiful cards.
Wow.
Oh, you got Jordan jersey autograph.
Yeah.
Oh, my gosh.
This is a huge card right here, this one.
Oh, my gosh.
You got an amazing collection.
This is incredible.
How long have you been collecting for?
20 years, maybe.
Okay.
Very cheap back then, right?
Yeah.
Yeah, very.
You were, you were a pioneer.
Yeah.
How did you get the, the Hoop set?
I collect, one by one.
So I, I'm interested in the Hoop Dream Team set.
Yeah.
I'm also interested in that Wilt Chamberlain autograph.
Yeah.
Is that one I know you're gonna have PSA, you know, authenticate it.
Yeah.
Is that one you're looking to potentially sell?
It's, come out, authentic, I think I will, I will, I will sell it.
I plan to sell it, yeah.
You think you'll sell it if it comes back authentic?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Here's the Jordan if you wanna see.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Dang.
Yeah, that's from the Hoop set.
Now, the other cards in this set, are they all PSA authentic or- Yes.
All a- all PSA or make up authentic, yeah.
Yeah.
How many of these are there, do you know?
I think a few.
Yeah.
Many are not, not real one, you know?
Yeah.
It's, it's not easy to, to find the, the good quality, the, the real one, I mean.
If we were to do I guess if we were to do a deal on these, are you coming back over to the US any time soon for another show?
If we have the deal, I think, I'll have it for you.
I have it- You'll bring it over?
Yeah, I, I'll, I'll- Special trip?
Yes, yes, yes, for you.
Or I can come visit you.
Please.
Maybe, maybe we c- maybe this will give me and my wife a reason to go back.
Yeah, I will show you my, my, my, my other collection.
Okay.
Let me go think about the Hoop set a little bit, and I'll send you a, I'll send you a message, and let's meet back up.
Okay.
Okay?
Thank you so much, my friend.
Okay.
Thank you very much.
Yeah.
Oh, man, that guy had some crazy stuff, and gosh, I really wish he had that Hoop set on him.
I'm kinda heartbroken that that Hoop's Dream Team autograph set, he didn't bring it with him.
And I'm also heartbroken because I- that guy was, earlier this year, set up at the West Coast Card Show selling that set for 70 to 80,000.
Now he's telling me the price is 130,000 on this set.
So it's like it's a you snooze, you lose type of thing.
Of course, then maybe that also means I should try to lock in a deal with him here at this show before the set becomes 200,000 next time I see him.
So I do think it's worth me sitting down for a few minutes, even though he doesn't have the set with him, trying to get a sense of its value, and maybe going back to him and presenting him with an offer to see if we can get something locked in.
How you doing?
You wanna make a deal?
You got cards to sell?
I'm offering 60% of cost.
What do you got?
What do you got?
1745, and it's- I think I offended him.
He's not moving anymore.
Oh, come to 7- I killed him.
There he is.
You, you're acting like all the girls I used to go on dates with.
What's going on?
Come on, what's going on?
Nothing.
He's gonna just go on a rampage and start just beating everybody up right now, isn't he?
No.
Something's gonna happen.
Be careful.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay now.
Okay now.
That is just weird.
I, I don't even know what to say about that.
I'm gonna s- I'm gonna slowly back away.
I'm slowly, slowly backing away.
Yes, slowly backing away.
Bye bye.
Bye bye.
Wow, that's the future right there.
The future is scary.
What we got?
I know you're a Tebow guy.
Oh, what is this?
It, it's Leaf, but it's a game-used baseball logo man of Tim Tebow.
It's one of the most unique cards I've ever owned, and when I saw it, I had to buy it.
Wow.
But I know you're a Tebow guy as well.
So I'm tempted, I'm tempted, because there's a card show coming to Gainesville, Florida, August 22nd and 23rd, the Florida Legends Show.
Okay.
And, Tebow's gonna be I don't know if he's gonna be officially on the show floor, but he's gonna be there.
Yeah.
And so, be really cool to get him to sign that.
That would be cool.
Are you, are you, are you keeping the PC or trying to sell it?
I would sell it to you, just 'cause you're a big Tebow guy.
I, it- I need 5K, though.
That's, that's- 5K?
Yeah.
All right.
Let me think about that.
Yeah, go for it.
That's awesome.
That's super cool.
That's- it's super cool.
Yeah, for sure.
We'll see how the next few days play out at the show.
Yeah.
And maybe we'll come try to get a deal done.
Yeah, of course.
Good to see you again.
Yeah, you too, man.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Rich just stopped me and said he had a card I had to see, and Rich, this is a $400,000 beauty.
Thank you.
Tell me about this card.
So it's the Tom Brady rookie, which as we know is super popular.
The iconic 2000 Bowman.
Going up like crazy.
Iconic Bowman.
It's the gold version, numbered to 99, and it's the BGS 9, which is the highest grade in BGS.
There's six of them, so this is one of the six.
Unbelievable.
Thank you.
That's super special.
How long have you had this?
So I've had it a few months.
I came across it at one of the recent shows and had to trade for it.
Yeah.
So I pulled out some big boys.
That must have been a big trade.
Oh, it was a big trade.
A big trade.
Big trade, yeah.
There it is, ladies and gentlemen.
If you wanna drop $400,000 on a super rare Tom Brady rookie card, this might be the one you wanna get.
I said I was looking for Dream Team, and there it is.
Look at that.
Michael Jordan signed USA Basketball jersey.
Pull him out.
This is on display at the eBay booth.
I'm not even sure it's for sale.
I just literally wandered through here- Oh, no and I was like, "Whoa."
We were just talking about Dream Team.
There's Dream Team.
Pretty cool piece.
All right, hold on one second.
But you know what?
I actually- 985- I actually already own one a Michael Jordan USA Basketball jersey.
So I don't need that one, but I'm gonna go on the hunt for something more.
What was your name?
Kai.
All right.
Kai just stopped me here on the show floor, and you told me there was a card of mine that you saw in one of my videos you were looking for.
Yeah.
What was that card?
The LeBron James short print PSA 10 of 40,000.
Okay, I think this is that card, right?
Yeah.
Okay.
So yeah, I've had this card for a couple of years.
I collect LeBron.
Same.
I lo- I love the card, but I did bring it to the National just to see what people would offer, and if I could get a trade deal done on it.
What Are you trying to buy the card?
Yeah.
Are you trying to do- Trying to buy it.
Okay.
What do you think, what do you think it's worth?
Have you done any research on it?
Yeah, I'm seeing two grand, one gra- 1,000 and 1,200.
Yep, I see that as the last three sales- Yep here in Market Movers.
2,000 was the most recent.
Yeah.
And then 1,000 was the month prior to that, and 1,200.
Yeah, those are the last three I see here as well.
So I'll average those out.
I would value it, like, 17.
Is that- 1,700?
Why do you value it at 17?
You're just kinda averaging the last three?
Yeah.
And then I added, like, a premium 'cause of the trade, so.
Okay.
It came out to 15, but then I put the extra on.
Would you take 14?
No, I don't think I can go that low, especially with the last sale being 2,000.
Like- What's the best you could do on it, you think?
Gosh, LeBron stuff is so hot right now that if I was doing a deal with anybody other than you, I would wanna get at least 2,000 because that's what the last sale was, and his stuff has been hot.
It's been going up.
I would come off that a little bit for you, but I can't.
Like, I, I can't come off it a whole lot.
I would do 1,800 if you wanted to do 1,800 on it.
Could you s- do 16?
What are you gonna do with the card?
Keep it in my PC.
You're not gonna sell it?
Yeah, never.
You're not trying to flip it?
No.
The card's going in your PC?
Yeah.
You promise?
Yes.
Okay, I would do 1,600 on it for you.
Good deal.
All right.
There you go.
Gotta give this kid an awesome card for his PC.
It's a rare one.
It's a rare LeBron, and I just gave him a little bit of value on it, too, because with the last sale being 2,000, I think he's doing pretty good on it.
About 1,100, 12, 13, 14, 15.
That's 1,600.
It's really nice- Thank- doing a deal with you.
Yep.
Thank you.
Keep building that LeBron collection.
I think that's gonna do really well for you, all right?
Yep.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
Can't- 1,200 bucks?
No.
I can't do that.
You're trying, you're trying to, you're trying to get a flip right now?
I think that's a good deal.
That's a great deal.
I gave him a good deal.
That was a very nice deal.
I know.
I gave him a good deal.
He's trying He, he turned around and flip it to this guy- I mean- Yeah for 1,700.
He kept his word, though.
He kept his word.
That's good.
He said he wasn't gonna try to flip it or sell it.
That's why I gave him a good deal.
So I appreciate you keeping your word, buddy.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Awesome.
Nice to meet you guys.
Nice to meet you guys.
Do you mind if I have a photo with you?
Sure.
Okay, so I've been using Market Movers to do quite a bit of research on those Dream Teams NBA Hoops cards, as well as the Walter Payton cards and the Wilt Chamberlain autograph card.
I'm seeing some interesting stuff, and this is helping kind of formulate my decision here as to what to do.
So first of all, of those 1991 Hoops Dream Team USA Basketball autograph cards, no surprise, but the Michael Jordan is by far the most valuable.
And here in Market Movers, you can see what those Jordans have sold for recently.
They sell for a lot, but if you look at, like, the last sale here, for example, $40,800.
But that one is a nicer auto, I think, than the one that he had.
Now, I only saw it briefly on his phone, but this looks like a nicer auto.
It's also card-graded and auto-graded, whereas his was just authenticated.
So I, I would place the value of his probably below this one, although this one is from April, and Jordan's market has been moving up some from April.
But as I look at the other players from this set, their autograph cards are not very valuable.
Probably no surprise there, but you see some of these, like Magic Johnson's $457.
Coach K's is $340.
Larry Bird's $270.
Patrick Ewing $550, and that was for a PSA 10 auto.
Charles Barkley $700.
So, you know, the rest of the cards, or at least most of them, are not that valuable.
It's really the Jordan that carries the value.
What's interesting is I wanted to take a look at how hard it would be for me to try to find all these cards on my own and build the complete set, and so therefore understand what premium I should put on the fact that he has the complete set.
And if you look to the right here, this is the PSA Pop Report.
Eight Charles Barkley copies have been graded and authenticated by PSA.
There could be more out there, maybe in BGS Labs, for example, or maybe not even graded or authenticated at all.
But eight Charles Barkley by PSA, so that's pretty rare.
80- 83 Larry Birds, 11 Patrick Ewings, 80 Magic Johnsons.
Those guys sign a lot.
Seven Jordans, so that one is a little tough to find, but there have been some that have popped up for sale over the last year.
10 Karl Malone, 12 Chris Mullin, five Scottie Pippen, five David Robinson, three John Stockton.
John Stockton is the most rare and the toughest.
John Stockton doesn't like to sign.
He doesn't sign a lot.
So that John Stockton card might actually be the most difficult to get if I was to try to build the complete set on my own.
Chuck Daly, 10, Lenny Wilkens, 20, P.J.
Car- Carlissimo, 12, Coach K, 48.
So- It would be hard to build the set, especially with the John Stockton, but is it worth a premium of maybe 60 or $70,000?
Which is kinda where the premium he's anticipating, maybe more for the complete set, with him, with the Jordan being probably a 30 to $40,000 card in the condition that he had it in.
I mean, he wanted 90,000 more than that for the complete set based on his asking price.
That's a little bit of a stretch.
So I really want this set, but I've also gotta be disciplined.
I can't have FOMO.
I can't go too crazy on the first day of the National and just throw cash at something and overpay.
So I'm gonna toss him an offer, but it's not gonna be the offer he wants.
We'll see if he's very flexible and willing to do business with me, or we'll see if he's strong, in which case it may break my heart, but I may not get that set.
Now, what's interesting is I also wanted to look at the Wilt Chamberlain that he's got.
Those Wilt Chamberlains, man, they go, they can go for a lot of money.
The last one sold for 53,000, but that one was auto- that one was a, a really poorly conditioned card and auto.
276,000 for the one prior to that, which was autographed, and 144,000 for the one prior to that, so that's a high-end card.
And here's the Walter Paytons and what they do.
You can see the last couple sales of those were really high, but the sales before that a little bit lower.
So a lot to think about here.
What's interesting though is the story that the Pop Report tells.
The Wilt Chamberlain, looking at PSA's Pop Report here, has a total graded population of just nine.
Seven regular and two including the qualifiers with an auto.
So nine total of the Wilt Chamberlain that exist PSA graded with an auto of authentic or an auto grade.
Compare that to the Walter Payton, there's 49 of the Walter Payton.
So the Walter Payton, you can find those.
The Wilt Chamberlain, that's a special card.
Those are locked away in collections.
They don't come out very often, and when they do come out, they command big dollars.
Now, he's gotta get his authenticated before we could do any type of business on it, but who knows?
If he's able to get that done here at the show, maybe that's the card that I end up doing a deal with him on.
Right now, at this moment, I'm gonna reach back out to him and see if he'll accept a low offer on the hoop set.
We are It's the Sports Card Investor booth.
It's right behind Panini, so if you find the big Panini booth in the corporate area, we're right behind it.
Okay.
I'll see you in a few minutes.
Okay.
He's, he's coming back over, and, we'll see if we can get a deal done.
Dave, good to see you again.
Hey, good to see you, too.
Thanks for coming over to the booth.
Yeah.
So, I love the hoop set.
Yeah?
And I was kind of, I was looking up, doing some research on it.
So I know you said when you had it at the West Coast Card Show earlier this year- Yeah you said you had it listed at 80,000, right?
Yes.
And all of the cards are, they're all PSA authentic.
Are any of the cards, number graded or are they just all authentic?
Some is, there's, number graded, but all of them is authentic, authenticated by PSA or by Beckett.
Or by Beckett?
Yeah.
Okay.
So it's all, they're all authentic.
I like this set.
I know you said you think the value's gone up- Yeah quite a bit since then.
Yeah, yeah.
So it's Yeah, I think what you want for it's a little bit beyond where I would probably be on it.
The, the Jordan, I saw the last time one of the Jordans sel- sold, it sold in the 40,000 range.
Yeah.
And that one was a PSA 8 with an auto 8.
Yeah, I see.
Yeah, I se- I, I, I see.
So it's a nice card.
Yeah, yeah.
And so and I think yours was authentic.
Yeah, yeah.
So I would, if I were gonna offer on the set, I would probably be closer to what you had it at back in February.
You know, like, the, the $70,000 to $80,000- Yeah, I see.
I see would probably be more in my range on this set- Yeah rather than- Yeah what you now want, which is, like, $130,000.
Yes.
So.
So maybe, I put the number a little bit high, but if you see the Jordan market is went so, so high- It is going crazy every weeks.
Yeah.
Every weeks.
Yeah.
Yeah, I think this is a little bit expensive, I could say high, but- Yeah the next month, maybe two months, it's gonna be, it, it's gonna be, It could be.
Yeah.
I could be regretting not- Yeah not, you know, not o- making you a stronger offer on it.
Yeah, yeah.
But at the moment it feels like going, you know, trying to go up quite that high- Yeah, I see would be a real stretch.
I do love this set.
Yeah.
If, if, if I get the opportunity to see it in person in the future, I would love to look at it- I will bring it for you or if you can send me some photos maybe when you get done.
Yeah, I will When I go back to Indonesia, I will- Yeah I will take all the picture together so you can see.
Okay.
And then you can, you can value it, better.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, I, let's do that.
Yes.
And let me look at it.
As I said, like, right now, I feel comfortable in, like, that 70 to $80,000 range, but I understand- Yeah you want more.
Yes.
So maybe when I see the set, I can think about it.
The market is hot, you're right, but it's also the first day of the National- Yeah, yeah so I can't, I can't spend too, too much on day number one.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's okay.
I do like that Wilt Chamberlain auto that you have, though.
I know you're gonna go get it authenticated with PSA.
Yes.
Later in the show, if it comes back as authentic, let's talk about that.
Will do, yeah.
Because maybe that's something I'd be interested in.
You are, you are my first priority.
I appreciate that.
Yeah.
All right.
Well, thank you very much.
Thank you so much.
This will be a to be continued moment for the audience because we're gonna hopefully find out here in a couple of days if the Wilt Chamberlain auto gets authenticated, gets graded, and if we can make something happen on that.
Dave, it was a pleasure.
Okay.
Thank you.
Thank you very much.
Nice to meet you, Brendan.
Enjoy the show.
Nice to meet you.
Yeah.
See you.
See you around.
Ah.
I was really hoping we were gonna get a deal done there.
I would love that set, but we were a little bit too far apart, and look, it's only the first day of the National, so I've got to be patient because I know there's gonna be some incredible deals coming my way the next couple of days, and there's gonna be a lot of videos for you the next couple days.
