The Tarik Skubal trade has finally happened as late Saturday night, the Detroit Tigers sent him to the West Coast to the Los Angeles Dodgers for three prospects.
Skubal will now headline a Dodgers rotation that includes Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and will include Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow in the near future, and heightens the Dodgers' already high chances of making a World Series run.
Skubal has said that he would like to stay with the Dodgers as a free agent, so we might see some contract extension talks kick up in the near future, and what that means for a potential MLB lockout is a conversation for another video.
For fantasy purposes, this doesn't really change your opinion of Skubal.
He has a little bit of a slightly higher win share with the Dodgers, but you're rolling him out there just as you would always.
The three prospects heading back to the Tigers, one of them is River Ryan, who's an older pitching prospect, but he didn't transition to be a full-time pitcher until he was 23 years old.
He has a one thirty-three career MLB ERA in four starts, and he has a three forty-three minor league ERA, with two hundred and fifty-five strikeouts in two hundred and thirteen innings.
He's a really high upside starter, but he has injury risk, and so that has hampered his development a little bit.
But he could be at the top of the Tigers rotation in twenty twenty-seven with Jackson Jobe and Troy Melton, so he gives the Tigers an MLB-ready starting pitcher.
Zaire Hope, the outfielder who was the twenty-fifth ranked prospect according to MLB Pipeline, is also going to the Tigers.
He's hitting two ninety-three with twenty-three homers and eighteen stolen bases as a twenty-one-year-old in Double A.
He has some contact concerns, but his raw tools are very loud.
