One of the biggest unresolved roster issues heading into the start of the new league year is Kyler Murray's status with the Arizona Cardinals.
Denny Carter, we're almost positive he's not gonna be the team's starting quarterback in 2026.
What we do not know is if he's gonna be on the roster.
He's prohibitive to cut.
The Cardinals will not achieve any cap savings if he's released.
It would be better if he were traded, but Kyler reportedly, quote-unquote, "prefers a clean split."
Understandably, he wants to be releas- released so he can choose his new home.
what do you make of the situation?
Where do you think he might end up?
I mean, he could end up pretty much anywhere that needs a quarterback, you know, Dolphins, Browns, Jets.
you know, you name the franchise that doesn't have a quarterback, and I'm sure that they would be very interested in Kyler Murray.
the question is, can he get out of his situation in Arizona?
In the end, I don't think that the two sides are gonna have much of a choice.
I mean, he was effectively benched last year, when he had a, a minor injury.
he looked fine on the sidelines.
Sideline reporters were wondering why he wasn't playing.
Jacoby Brissett, career backup, was in, so th- that marriage is over.
He's gonna be somewhere else.
is he an elite quarterback in the NFL?
I don't think so.
but is Could he be a top-half quarterback, for a team that just desperately needs decent quarterback play?
I think, I think that's possible in 2026.
Yeah.
What I would say, though, is the way he's handled himself in Arizona, I don't necessarily think the team's gonna play nice.
They're not gonna be looking to do right by Kyler Murray.
They're gonna be looking to get the most out of it they can.
That would be via trade.
Really fascinating situation, a free agency almost here.
