Is it time to close the chapter on A.J. Brown trade? 'GMFB'

"GMFB" break down is it time to close the chapter on New England Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown trade.

Video Transcript

For, uh, Arturo Juan is what I will be calling him.

The Patriots, uh, confirmed their welcome here with the new offensive weapon with this post captioning the one.

But wait, because then the Eagles responded a couple of days later with their own post also captioning it the one, it's giving petty.

Uh, and I'm here for that, Mike G. A little bit of banter back and forth between, let me tell you something.

The two social media reps for each team, they know each other and they know each other well.

OK, this is great.

Is it time to really close this chapter though on the AJ Brown trade, or isn't inevitable?

I feel like this is gonna be one of those topics, uh, for a good portion of the season, Mike G. Oh no, I think it's going to hang over things and right now the teams, at least in the Eagles' perspective, uh, they have a say in that.

So you can't come back later and say, oh, we've moved on if you're doing this kind of stuff, and you could say, well, it's the admin, but that stuff gets approved all the way up before it hits publicly.

Um, I will say this, let me, let me add this part.

So AJ Brown closed the chapter on his time in Philadelphia because he was there at the.

Facility last week, I believe it was Thursday, he was there to pick up some, some stuff at the facility and say his goodbyes.

Um, on the walls there they have pictures of Pro Bowl players and uh AJ signed his, they have, they have the players sign it.

So he signed it and then from what I was told, he then added the best to ever play here, always open.

Now that that signature is going to stay up on the wall .

They may have to edit out the the the message as well, but no, no hard feelings or anything like that.

It's just he had his affinity for the time that he played in Philadelphia, and they still love him.

There's still a lot of love for him inside that building.

And I'll also, all right, let me, let me, let me also hit the other elephant now, uh, this talk of what's happening and why the trade happened and AJ Brown and Hassan Reddick, and you've seen it probably on social media.

I talked to Big Dom about this, OK, and Big Dom knows what's happening in that entire building, and he was adamant that that is not true.

There is no truth to that part, that Hassan Reddick is no longer an Eagle because Hassan Reddick wanted a huge payday, and AJ Brown is no longer an Eagle for reasons that have nothing to do with what's circulating online.

He could not have.

Been more adamant that story is complete and utter bupkis, so we can at least turn the page on that part of everything here as AJ Brown heads to New England and reboots and who knows, maybe he'll be the best to ever play in Foxborough and we'll write it on the wall.

Well, if we're gonna turn the page, I, I, I wanna turn the page to Saturday, August 22, 2026, so.

The Patriots don't play the Eagles during the season, but they do play them for the 2nd preseason game.

And listen, I know that vets don't play really, especially in the 2nd preseason, but AJ.

Let's suit up, buddy.

Yeah, let's just go out there, run some vertical routes.

Maybe Drake may throw you a, a, a touchdown or two like that is, can we, can we make that happen?

because that's really the only way that I'm gonna see AJ Brown go against the Philadelphia Eagles, um, now that he's with the New England Patriots.

So if we are gonna turn to page KB, let's turn it to August 22nd of this coming football season and preseason, and I'll be tuned in.

Completely here for that.

I love it.

Mike.

I'm surprised you kept us out of your story about when AJ signed the wall.

Uh, he then went down to Jalen's picture and drew a mustache on him and so like I, I heard that it was, he defaced it.

I heard he did that also, you know how they both have the same tweet about, you know, number one and all that.

I don't know if you guys have heard this, but um.

Jalen Hurts's middle name is Alexander and uh he's gonna start going by JA Hurts now, so it's AJ is gone, but he's going by JA.

This is, I, these are just the facts.

I don't have the sources that Mike does, Big Dom or otherwise.

I would ask you though, Mike, you said Big Dom had said it had nothing to do with their relationship or whatever, then why isn't he an eagle anymore?

What is it about then?

No, it, it, it was not about what was being asserted online.

Uh, it is about, it is about their relationship.

I mean, I, I, I, I covered this team the last couple of years closely, and I remember the middle of the season, Kyle saying these two can't coexist anymore, and that they tried to really push their way through it.

I mean, there were issues going back to their Super Bowl season, so that's the reason why I'm just saying the specific thing, I'm not even gonna get into it, the specific thing that's circulating on social media is not a, a.
