All right, we do have to talk about the starting pitcher tonight in Trevor McDonald, who is a young guy, has only made a couple starts in the bigs.
He gotta go up against the big bats of the Dodger lineup.
He got into some trouble in the fourth, but it really could've been worse, George.
I was impressed with the way that he responded.
I agree.
I, I That, that fourth inning really could've been an unraveling, but- Mm-hmm you're talking about a guy who's only making his fourth career start, his sixth- Right career Major League appearance, and he's going into Chavez Ravine, pitching against the big, bad Dodgers, and I thought he actually composed himself really nicely.
The stuff looked good.
The first three innings, he cruised through for the, for the most part.
Then you ran into that fourth inning, starting with Freddie Freeman.
And, you know, all four of those singles, one of them was actually a well-executed pitch that was taken the other way.
Mm-hmm.
The other three were just some pitches that weren't e- very well executed, and he got that big double play to He gave up a couple runs, but got out of it, and that was actually a really nice way to compose yourself.
But, you know, for a guy who's this young and still this new in the big leagues, the emotion is really a big part of it as well.
Sure.
so I think that that got to him a little bit.
Some of the pitches started elevating a little bit later in his outing when the pitch count got up.
But that all kind of takes care of itself the more he gets on the mound and deals with those emotions as time goes on and his starts increase.
Sure.
McDonald finished the night with nine hits, three earned runs, two walks, four strikeouts in five and a third innings pitched.
