Two Games with Lars Nootbaar, Two Stirring Come-From-Behind Wins for Cardinals

Playing just his second MLB game since returning from double heel surgery, Lars Nootbaar blasted a two-run, go-ahead homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Cardinals to a 6-5 come-from-behind win over the rival Reds.

Good to be able to use him off the bench, and dude could hit, man.

And, that was a big swing there, left on left, to do what he did.

So that was, that was a heck of a lot of fun for a lot of reasons.

Must have been fun to see him get the curtain call, get the moment after you guys have been without him for the first couple months of the season.

That, that's what's exciting.

You look at the brand of baseball we're playing, there's a reason the fans are, are excited about it, and there's a energy behind everything that's happened.

We're playing the game hard, we're playing the game the right way, and then you add Newt, who just brings a ton of energy and excitement, in the way he plays.

And, it's a lot of fun.

Is this one of those games that you react to and say you like it because of just all the nuance and detail that went into this one coming out?

Yeah, there was a lot of nuances to this one.

And, Libby wasn't as sharp as he wanted to be, but, the bullpen comes in there, and between G and Stanek and Sory and every-- O'Brien closing it out, they did a really nice job of keeping the score and allowing our offense to come back.

but there was a lot of moving parts to that one that made it fun.
