Vikings waive Brosmer to get down to three QBs

In Minnesota, they had kept four quarterbacks on the roster as of Sunday.
Kyler Murray, Carson Wentz, J.J. McCarthy, and Max Brosmer.
Out on Monday is Brosmer.
He started two games last year.
The game against Seattle was a disaster.
They won every game of the year after that.
That was a complete and total disaster.
But he was the starter in the game on Christmas Day when they beat the Lions and knocked them out of the playoffs.
And it's not like Brosmer went out there and lit it up, but he didn't blow it.
No.
He won the game.
So- I think he threw for 45 yards, though he'll end up on the practice squad, I think.
Yeah.
Yeah, right.
Well.
Well.
But he didn't blow it.
No, he did not blow it.
He didn't, he didn't throw a pick- he didn't throw a pick six on one of the ugliest throws that I've ever seen, a throw that even I wouldn't have made.
Remember that?
He's falling down, he, he just kind of panicked and threw the ball up in the air.
Yes.
It was like Garo Yepremian Super Bowl VII.
So anyway, they may bring him back to the practice squad.
They really liked him last year, but I think once he played, I can't remember who said it.
It was you, it was Jason Garrett, it was somebody.
But you can really like a guy in practice, but there's a big difference between practice and games.
There's a big difference.
You get him out there in practice, he looks great.
Games, it's gonna be potentially very different, and it was for Max Brosmer.
But they, they had to do something, and I thought they were hoping to get maybe a trade offer for J.J. McCarthy, and they still could.
They still could.
I think it's gonna be Murray and Wentz, and they're figuring out what the rest of it's gonna look like.
Yeah.
I, I hear you.
There is a big difference between practice and a game.
There's a big difference between pre-season and a real regular season game.
And I think these are both, I think, two separate situations where, I, I think you're saying it right.
To me, the there was a teams that kept quarterbacks 'cause they looked at the lay- the lay of the land and went, "Wait.
Some of these teams are They're not really gonna have this guy as a backup, right?
They're obviously gonna try to get somebody as a backup."
And I think some teams kept some quarterbacks thinking there might be some action for one of their guys.
Minnesota would be one of that.
With the way this went down, yeah, I think you're exactly right.
It was my thought, Mike, that they called around, whether it was J.J. McCarthy or Carson Wentz, and were like, "Hey, do you guys need a better backup?
Need a better backup?
Because if we get rid of one of them, Max Brosmer will now be the third quarterback, and we'll have our three that way."
But nothing happened.
There was no action there, so now they go, "Okay.
Well, McCarthy and Wentz are gonna make the roster," and they make the move with Bros- Brosmer.
But, I think that's, that's what we've seen here.
A few teams look at it and go, "We're gonna keep our guy because I can't believe that team is going to go with that guy as their backup."
And the next team we are about to talk about would qualify as that team that I would go, "Are you kidding me?
You're keeping him as your backup?"
And, and I'm talking about the New York Jets, so I think that is what went down a little bit- Yeah with Minnesota there.
