Willis has tons of fantasy upside with Dolphins
Matthew Berry reacts to the Miami Dolphins signing Malik Willis to be their starting quarterback and assesses his fantasy value has a high-upside player with little sample size.

In fairness to me, I just didn't think the Dolphins would eat ninety-nine million dollars in dead cap money for Tua and give Malik Willis forty-five million guaranteed, potentially think of over sixty.
But that's me.
What do I know about salary cap?
Here's what I do know.
Malik Willis, tons of fantasy upside, right?
Three starts over the last two years, averaged over twenty-three fantasy points per game.
So the upside is there, especially with the rushing.
We all know this, and it makes sense that he winds up in Miami when you think about the fact that the head coach and general manager of the Dolphins obviously used to be with Green Bay.
So they're very familiar with Malik Willis.
Malik Willis, very familiar with them.
Okay.
All that said, he's had six career starts.
Six, right?
I mean, you know, ask anyone that drafted Justin Fields last year.
I-- You know, like, with a short sample size, doesn't mean fantasy success is guaranteed.
I think he's closer to a top fifteen running back than a top ten.
So I think he's a high-end QB two.
With sustained production, I think he could sneak into a low-end QB one situation.
But if-- I don't know if you guys have looked at it yet, but quarterback is super deep next year.
So again, I think he's a high-end QB two as we sit here today.
Outside of Jaylen Waddle and DeVonta Smith, there's not a lot there in Miami, so it's a rebuilding year for the Dolphins.
Speaking of those two guys, one of the things about Willis, we like him in fantasy because he's willing to duck and run, but that doesn't help Jaylen Waddle, who I think is gonna want more volume than he may get.
I think he's probably closer to a wide receiver three than wide receiver two with Willis under center.
And I also think this hurts DeVonta Smith, I love, love DeVonta Smith, but a lot of his fantasy value last year, actually since he's come in the league, has come on high volume involvement in the passing attack.
Super talented runner, of course, but, like, he just gets so much work in the passing game, and with a guy like Willis, how much is he gonna be dumping off to A-Chan when he-- his tendencies is to, is to duck and run for a first down, which he can do.
So I think this hurts Waddle a little bit.
I think it hurts A-Chan a slight amount.
But certainly, Malik Willis' fantasy value on the rise as twenty-four hours ago, he was a backup for the Green Bay Packers, and now he's the starting quarterback for the Miami Dolphins.
