Are the Wings a top contender for 2026 WNBA title?
Trysta Krick breaks down which five WNBA teams are her top contenders for a 2026 season title, including Aces' MVP A'ja Wilson, coaching changes for the NY Liberty and Caitlin Clark's Indiana Fever.

The WNBA season is just right around the corner, and with it on the horizon, let's talk about the top five teams that could win a championship.
Now, it's a pretty narrow band, so we're going to have to expand this to some of the dark horses.
Number one, of course, is the Las Vegas Aces, right?
They've got the best player in the world in A'ja Wilson.
They got the best system in the league.
They got the best coach in the league, all at the same time.
A'ja Wilson, she put her Jean Grey wig on, and she says she's going to add to her game and take over the universe.
She's one of the best clutch performers, who not only puts the team on her back, but she shows up when the lights are the brightest.
The thing that's probably the biggest concern is Chelsea Gray is 34, Jewel Lloyd is 32, which means their window is closing.
And we saw last year what that age started to do during the regular season games where they were hovering right at the seven seed.
So I am keeping my eye on that.
Number two is the Liberty, another star-studded team.
They get bounced in the first round.
They shake things up.
Chris DeMarco comes over from the Golden State Warriors.
He has simplified their system in a way that should generate a lot easier looks for their players, and they add Satou Sabally in the mix, who already has played with Sabrina Ionescu over at Oregon.
I think she immediately comes in and not only raises the floor, but raises the roof for what this Liberty team can be.
Number three is, of course, the Indiana Fever, the team that almost beat the Aces last year in, and in game five, if it wasn't for Kelsey Mitchell.
To get rabdo and have to leave mid-game, maybe they would've ended up in the finals.
Now they're healthier than ever.
Caitlin Clark is back.
You've got Aliyah Boston adding to her game.
Kelsey Mitchell's still there.
Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull are their gritty 3 & D players.
With the pick your poison type of offense, they add also one of the best defenders in all of college in Raven Johnson.
They add Monique Billings.
This team is stacked, and it looks like they're totally healthy.
Number four is the Dream, the highest-scoring team in the league.
Add another dominant interior presence in Angel Reese.
They add the league's best rebounder.
They pair her with another imposing big in Bri Jones.
They have the best perimeter players in the league.
You could say they shoot a ton of threes.
Number one in the WNBA in terms of three-pointers made.
the biggest question mark is, how long does it take for Bri Jones to come back?
And then number five is the dark horse, the Dallas Wings.
This team looks locked in.
They just beat the breaks out of the Las Vegas Aces in a preseason game where all of the Aces' best players played.
Paige, Arike, AZ all do different things.
AZ's going to be one of the better movement shooters in the league.
Paige is going to set the table scoring under the mid-range, and Arike can pretty much create her own shot off the dribble anywhere on the floor.
You add in Allana Smith, the co-defensive player of the year.
You add in Jess Shepard, who's a tough physical pick and roll partner.
And oh boy, they've got pieces even in the rotation like Azia James and Odyssey Sims off the bench who can give you some scoring punch.
I tell you what, this Dallas Wing team is a problem
