Will Wizards Sign Anthony Davis To 4-Year, $275 Million Max Extension?

After being traded to the Washington Wizards, Anthony Davis is now eligible for a four-year, two hundred and seventy-five million dollar max extension.
AD and his camp fully want that deal, but he's yet to play a single game for the Wizards since being traded there back in February.
Brett, will the Wizards give AD the four-year max deal he's looking for, or will he be looking to go elsewhere?
Rich Paul and Anthony Davis want a max contract from the Washington Wizards, but that is not a contract that the Wizards are prepared to offer him.
Although multiple teams made calls to the Wizards this off-season inquiring about Anthony Davis' trade availability, the Warriors, Hawks, and Trail Blazers among the many teams who were interested, the Wizards were not prepared to trade Anthony Davis, with GM Will Dawkin saying that he envisions him being a part of the Wizards' long-term future next to Trae Young and number one overall pick AJ Dibanza.
Davis is not going anywhere, but he does want long-term security.
That will come at some point during the '26-27 season, as The Athletic recently reported that Davis and the organization will discuss an extension after the new season begins.
I expect a deal to get done somewhere in the one hundred and eighty million to two hundred million dollar range over the course of the next four years for Davis, but he will not be getting a max extension, and no team out there would be willing to give him that either.
He is just not that type of player anymore, and since he's missed a vast majority of the last three seasons, it is not a contract that can be trusted.
