The Yankees, dismantled the Orioles and really stuck it to their playoff shot, I thought, this week as they swept them Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
Did a decent job against the Toronto Blue Jays.
As we mentioned, some injuries with the Yankees.
Yankees are also in that position, again, jockeying, hoping the Rays fall down a little bit.
If not, the Yankees will be very content with their wildcard spot.
You know, the Yankees are in a better spot, Tom, simply put, because the American League is just so awful this year.
If this was the National League- New York would be a little nervous.
"Hey, could we get caught?"
you know, the, I'm not saying that they're gonna take it easy, but they feel, I, they feel very secure to me to get a spot somewhere.
Right.
This has been, a, a crazy week really across the AL East, where, the Yankees first off, we have to go back to the end of last week, where the Orioles swept the Rays, right?
And now we have, a spot where the Yankees are sweeping the Orioles.
So the Orioles thought they had all these, the, the wildcard chances were improving, then they get swept.
Now we have the Yankees who are coming off a series loss versus the Blue Jays.
Now they're taking care of the Orioles.
Like, things are going left, right, up, down, and center when it comes to the AL East right now.
I do believe that the Rays are not secure in their AL East spot.
They're not playing good baseball right now.
Their pitching staff has taken a step back over the last few weeks.
It's only down to a three-game lead.
Mm-hmm.
I think the Yankees can still win the division at, at that spot.
If it doesn't get there, they'll absolutely get one of the wildcard.
And when you look at the top of the league overall, not just the AL, s- seven of the 10 top teams are all NL, and the three that aren't are all in the AL East with the Yankees, the Red Sox, and the Rays.
It's going to be an insane end to the season.
