The big box store Costco is making a change to its food courts.

The company is in the process of switching from Pepsi to Coca-Cola beverages by installing traditional fountain units into the courts, according to a July 21 statement sent to USA Today from Costco. The transition is expected to be completed by the fall.

"Costco's legendary hot dog combo just got an ice-cold Coca-Cola upgrade," the company said in its statement. "Costco insiders and Coca-Cola fans are buzzing about the transition, which will span warehouses in 14 countries, allowing Costco members everywhere to once again enjoy their favorite Coca-Cola beverages alongside Costco's beloved food court offerings."

Costco did not immediately respond to MassLive's request for comment.

Ron Vachris, CEO of Costco announced in January that Costco would switch its food court fountains to Coca-Cola products during a shareholder meeting on January 23, Fox Business reported.

The news of this switch comes at a time when Coca-Cola announced that some of its beverages will be made with cane sugar.
