About Us

The Fairfax Academy for Communications and the Arts inspires and empowers a diverse body of learners to explore career pathways employing current industry trends taught by dedicated professionals.

Fairfax Academy, housed within Fairfax High School, is one of six career and technical education centers in FCPS offering elective courses with a career emphasis. Students from surrounding FCPS high schools are eligible and invited to join us for these specialized electives as part of their regular school day. 

Fairfax Academy for Communications & the Arts offers outstanding opportunities for students with career interests in fine & performing arts, design, trades and communications. Advanced career elective courses, in twelve academic areas, incorporate the latest industry technology and instructional techniques while providing opportunities far beyond the classroom. Our critical language offerings of American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese, and Korean provide accelerated language instruction and cultural studies not offered by most base high schools.
