Come visit an Academy Class!

Interested in attending Fairfax Academy?

Prospective student visits are available throughout February each year. Visits are highly recommended, but not required. Students must schedule their visit at least one week in advance with their school counselor.

School visits are only available for current FCPS 9th-11th grade students. If your student is currently in middle school or attends school in another county, please join us for our evening Open House on February 3, 2026 from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Please follow these steps:

1. Beginning in January, students should meet with their school counselor to talk about Fairfax Academy courses and which class students would like to visit. Students do not have to visit the specific class/level they plan to register for.
2. Student visits are held Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout February, 2026.
3. Counselors then contact Fairfax Academy Administrative Assistant Sarah Tarvid to schedule visits. Indicate the date of visit, the Academy block of visit (AM 8:30 a.m. - 9:40 a.m., MID 11:45 a.m. - 1:10 p.m., or PM 1:00 p.m. - 2:10 p.m.), the course(s) to visit, and student's current grade level. Please have alternate days/times in case first choices are not available.  (Please note: not all classes are available every block.)
4. All student visitors must have a completed and signed Visitor's Pass, available from the base school counselor.

It is recommended that families attend the Open House (February 3rd from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.) to meet with teachers and visit classrooms!
