“The idea that I could take additional performing arts courses that weren’t offered at my own school immediately sold me on being involved in Fairfax Academy. Getting to learn from one group, then go to another environment to collaborate and learn new skills from a completely different group gave me the tools to understand the rigor of what it takes to study a craft and make art in community. The GREATEST gift I received through the Academy is the skill of collaboration-  the importance of being flexible, accepting all gifts, and how to make it work in any situation.What I learned in my time in FCPS working with people like Michael Replogle and Amy Hard has allowed me to live a life I couldn't have imagined for myself. I consistently see my former Academy classmates doing incredible things in the industry by utilizing their collaborative skills to book work, create art, and impact humanity.”

"Being able to take care of myself and provide for my family by doing what I love is the ultimate goal. I'm currently starting my first year at The Juilliard School of Drama, which is surreal because I didn't know if I would have considered it a goal for myself until I applied. I hope that these next few years of studying will help me enter all pathways of the creative world. I want to explore every aspect of my craft for my entire life. Maybe we get an E.G.O.T. (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award) along the way. Let's see where the journey takes us.”

Hasan has always been a curious artist and activated learner- taking each opportunity to explore pathways that have broadened his industry experience and perspective while arming him with additional tools for his toolkit. He's served as a drama camp counselor, technician, stage manager, improv performer, children's theatre performer, teaching artist, intern, production assistant, box office attendant, DJ, film and commercial actor, print model, and more! 

After a few years of professional work in Los Angeles, Hasan wanted more. He diligently applied to graduate programs- traveling for auditions/interviews, filling out applications, and awaiting results. 

His lofty goal, the dream school, was Juilliard. After intensely rehearsing and preparing, he made it through the first full day of auditions in New York. An agonizing few weeks later, he received the call. Hasan was one of 9 actors selected for the graduate drama program at Juilliard, one of the most competitive and rigorous programs in the world. 

Fairfax Academy is excited to follow his journey, and grateful to count Hasan as part of our #faxacad family! Bravo!
