WJLA Features Digital Filmmaking

WJLA’s Good Morning Washington visited Fairfax Academy’s TV & Media Production (now Digital Filmmaking) class to shoot a “ Spotlight on Education ” segment with TV personality Brian van der Graaff and his crew. Students were given the authentic opportunity to shadow the taping process and learn about the process from inception to airing with host and producer/camera operator. 

Mr. Van der Graaf then took time to share about his career pathway, offer concrete advice about the industry, and field creative questions. Following the discussion, teacher Mr. Balthrop, Academy Administrator Ms. Cook, and our incredible students (including alumni) were interviewed on camera. 

An exciting day on set and in the classroom- which is what Fairfax Academy is proud to offer our career focused artists. Just another day in Mr. Balthrop's hands-on Digital Filmmaking program!
