- Students are considered late at 9:15 a.m. and must check in at Door 1 with an adult.

Emergency School Closing, Delayed Opening, or Early Dismissal
In the event of severe weather, Forestville Elementary follows the procedures of Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) regarding emergency school closings, delayed openings, or early dismissals. We encourage all families to familiarize themselves with these guidelines as they directly impact the school day bell schedule.
Two-Hour Delayed Opening Schedule
- Students in grades K-6 shall report two hours later than their regular schedule.
- School day starts at 11:15 am and finishes at 4:00 pm.
- Kiss n Ride opens at 11:05 am.
- Morning field trips are canceled.
- All offices are open unless the closing of offices is specified.
With any delayed opening, the buses will arrive to pick up the students two hours later than the regularly scheduled time.
Two-Hour Early Dismissal
- All students in grades K-6 will be dismissed two hours early. (9:15 a.m. - 2:00 p.m)
- Field trips are canceled.
