6th Grade
Welcome to Sixth Grade — Where Confidence and Community Lead the Way
Sixth grade is a year of transformation and readiness. Students step into their role as the leaders of our elementary school, modeling kindness, responsibility, and perseverance for younger learners.
Academically, sixth graders think critically across subjects—reading for deeper meaning, writing with clarity and purpose, and engaging in rich discussions. Math builds mastery of ratios, percentages, integers, and algebraic thinking, while science explores energy, Earth’s resources, and the interconnectedness of living systems.
In social studies, students study world geography and cultures, gaining a broader perspective of their place in a diverse and global community. Throughout the year, opportunities for collaboration, project-based learning, and leadership help them prepare for the transition to middle school.
At Forestville, sixth grade is about confidence, leadership, and community. Students leave our halls ready for new challenges, grounded in the friendships, skills, and values they’ve built along the way.
