Liberty held its first Environmental Fair, bringing together students, staff, and local organizations for an engaging celebration of environmental awareness. The event was sponsored by Liberty’s Get2Green Club, Cooking Club, Drama Club, and community partner Lord of Life Lutheran Church.

A wide variety of vendors participated, including Fairfax County Waste Management, Urban Farming, TT’s Bees, Comfenergy, K2C Snake Consultants, Bartlett Tree Service, Resource Recovery Project, Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions, and the Virginia Bonsai Society. Attendees had the chance to talk with experts, try local honey, climb trucks, learn how to create bonsai trees, and take home seedlings.

The fair offered activities for all ages, from making bubbles and listening to stories to exploring sustainability practices. The Cooking Club and SCA ran a concessions stand featuring homemade baked goods.

Students also played a big role in the event. Drama Club students performed “A Day in the Life of a Crouch School Student” as part of the Historical School House tours. At the Get2Green booth, students sold seedlings and plants grown with support from Ms. Stebner and Ms. Wilson .

Visitors could also tour Liberty’s newly opened outdoor classroom, guided by former Liberty 4H students Audrey and Arrow. The space features recycled art created by Ms. Kaseta's students and a newly refurbished chicken home, where guests could even feed apples to the chickens.

Liberty’s first Environmental Fair was a successful and memorable event that highlighted the importance of sustainability while bringing the community together.
