Rising 7th, 8th, and 9th Grade Course Selection
Below is information on events and relevant details for the course selection process.
Rising 7th Grade Information and Dates
January 14, 2026: Curriculum Night
- Incoming Liberty families are invited to Curriculum Night to learn about course offerings and meet with content teachers. This will include presentations by administrators about different policies and expectations at Liberty.
- The event starts at 5:30 p.m.
- An academic information fair will follow.
Week of January 20, 2026: Course Selection Review for Elementary Students
- Liberty counselors will meet with rising 7th-grade students at their elementary schools to discuss class options for middle school and answer questions. Students will also enter their classes via SIS. Parents will be able to view course selections via their ParentVUE account.
March 2026: Elementary Visits to Liberty
- Rising 7th-grade students will tour Liberty Middle School to become familiar with the building, key locations, and the overall layout as they prepare for their transition to middle school.
Rising 8th Grade Information and Dates
December 10-11, 2025: Course Option Presentation
- Counselors will present course options to rising 8th-grade students during History classes. Students will receive a draft course selection sheet that provides information about available courses and helps them make informed decisions.
January 14, 2026: Curriculum Night
- Families will learn about classes and teachers during the academic information fair.
- The event starts at 5:30 p.m.
January 16, 2026: Course Selection Entry
- Signed course selection sheets are due to Advisory teachers.
- Students will enter courses in SIS during Advisory.
Week of February 9, 2026: Course Selection Review
- Students will meet with counselors to review course selections.
March 13, 2026: Course Verification
- Course verifications are sent home.
March 27, 2026: Last Day for Course Change Requests
Rising 9th Grade Information and Dates
January 8, 2026: Centreville High School Curriculum Night
- Learn more information about this event via the Centreville High School website .
January 27-February 14, 2026: Course Selection Review
- Students will meet with counselors to review course selections.
February 14, 2026: Final Course Selection
- Students must submit their final selections via SIS.
April 2026: Trip to Centreville High School
- Current 8th-grade students will visit CVHS to learn about the classes and activities provided. They will also learn about high school student expectations.

- Music teachers will visit elementary schools to meet 6th graders and answer questions
- Band and orchestra students complete a short placement evaluation to ensure the right level
