Regional endpoints
If you are required to keep in-transit data within a specific location, use a region or multi-region that supports regional endpoints (REP). In the tables on this page, support for regional endpoints is indicated in columns with the REP supportheading.

Location-specific limitations
Note the following limitations of location-specific processing using Sensitive Data Protection:

Image inspection and redaction , as well as image inspection within the following file types are only supported in the multi-regions and the
globalregion:- Microsoft Word (DOCX)
- Microsoft Excel (XLSX)
- Microsoft Powerpoint (PPTX)
If you attempt to inspect images in a region that doesn't support it, Sensitive Data Protection will fall back to scanning images as binary files. As a workaround, you can configure your scan job to skip these files by selecting the appropriate file types when setting up the job. This limitation applies to images within these file types only; location-specific processing of PDF, DOCX, XLSX, and PPTX files is supported.

Storage inspection is supported in all regions that support region-specific Google Cloud storage repositories . Not all storage types are available on a region-specific basis. If a storage repository type such as BigQuery is not available for use in a particular region, you can't inspect it using Sensitive Data Protection.
