皆さんはどのようにして英単語を覚えるようにしていますか？
私は、「知らない英単語はない！」と豪語しています。
豪語していると、不思議なことに、どんな英単語も簡単に覚えてしまいます。
今日は、私が出会った単語の中から、英米の知識人に一目置かれるような「知的な英単語」を選んで紹介します。
【今日の単語】
５月28日の英単語は、「pompous」。
（例）He's a pompous old prig who's totally incapable of taking a joke.
He can sometimes sound a bit pompous
知っていましたか？
【前回の単語】
ところで、５月２３日の「ornithology」（The lives and habits of eagles and whippoorwills, tanagers and sparrows, hawks and seagulls-all such are the province of the ornithologist .）
いかがでしたか？
ornithologyの意味は、鳥類学、
the study of birds
という意味です。

Scientists have found that male tree-dwelling, putty-nosed monkeys in Nigeria can combine 2 noises to convey new meaning -a trait that was once thought unique to humans.
Scientists found that the monkeys can combine these alarm calls to generate a 3rd meaning that informs their group to move along.
