According to a recent study, Americans suffer from a chronic lack of sleep. West Virginians, it appears, suffer the most, with 1 in 5 reporting that they did not get a single good night’s sleep in the month prior to the study. The national average was about 1 in 10. In contrast, Hawaii’s residents were found to be the most well-rested, with nearly 36 percent saying they were fully rested every day. The survey also found that women generally slept worse than men, younger people worse than the elderly, and whites slept better than Latinos and blacks.
