　ラオスの朝は、お粥（カオピヤックカオ）で始めることが私の日課でした。
　朝からたくさんのお粥屋さんが営業していて、自分の好みのお粥屋さんに通います。
　お粥には、モヤシを入れたり、揚げパンを入れたり、ニンニクや 4 種類くらい用意されているトウガラシを入れたりして、好みの味にして食べます。

In Laos, congee （粥） is called khao piak, literally "wet rice". It is cooked with rice and chicken broth or water. The congee is then garnished （付け合わせる） with fried garlic, scallions and pepper. The dish will sometimes be served with chicken, quail （うずら） eggs, century eggs （皮蛋） . In Laos, congee is usually eaten as breakfast and during the cold season.
