I transferred to Ueda Electric Railway Bessho Line at Ueda to go to Bessho-onsen. Ueda Electric Railway is a Tokyu Group company and old Tokyu Ikegami Line train runs on Bessho Line. I bought an economy pass at the ticket/booking office, but at the very moment, I also found a stack of SALUS. I was surprised to be able to get SALUS at Ueda. I entered the gate and a 1000 Series trainset stopped. It was made in 1991, but it was replaced by 7000 Series and transferred to Bessho Line.
A few minutes later 1000 Series left from Ueda, then it went through Chikuma river and to Shioda Basin. I listen to its VVVF sound, which is a familiar sound for me listening on Ikegami Line, and viewed the basin. I dropped in Shimonogo to visit Ikushima-tarushima shrine.
After visiting I went back to the station and got on a train to Bessho-onsen. this time was a 7200 Series trainset which looks like "Marumado Densha", an old Bessho Line train with oval window. In the train, the harmonica performance by station master at Ueda station was held. I sang some songs he played with the other passengers. I got off it at Yagisawa, one station before Bessho-onsen and took a photo (beginning of this diary). Then I went to Bessho-onsen.
