英訳文 Everyone recognizes the beauty as the beauty. But this is an ugly thing. Everyone recognizes the good as the good. But this is a bad thing. Because being and not being, difficult and easy, long and short, high and low, these are relative concepts. Sounds and voices harmonize each other. The front and the back exist each other. So the saint who knows “the way” does not distinguish them and practices teachings that cannot be told. He does not explain all things of the world, does not possess things that he made, does not rely on things that he achieved, and does not stay in his success. All of them follow him because he is never attached to them.
英訳文 Do doing nothing. Live for nothing special. Enjoy tasteless life. Consider small things as big and small quantity as large. Repay a favor to a grudge. Solve a problem before it becomes hard. Solve a trouble before it becomes big. A hard problem often results from an easy problem. A big trouble often results from a small trouble. So the saint who knows “the way” does not do a great thing. He does small things and accomplishes great things. If you undertake problems casually, you will lose your trust. If you regard problems as easy, they will become hard. But the saint considers all problems as hard, and he can solve them easily as a result.
