Over the past few years, artificial intelligence has gone from being a niche technology to something that impacts almost every industry. From ChatGPT to autonomous AI agents, the pace of innovation has been incredible. But while most investors focus on AI stocks like Nvidia or Microsoft, I’ve been paying attention to another sector that still flies under the radar.

I’m not talking about meme coins that simply add “AI” to their name. I’m talking about blockchain projects that provide the computing power, data, infrastructure, and decentralized networks needed to build the next generation of artificial intelligence. In my opinion, this is where things start to get really interesting.

AI Needs More Than Algorithms

Everyone talks about AI models. Very few people talk about what those models actually need to function. Training and running artificial intelligence requires enormous amounts of:

If I had to choose one AI crypto project that completely changed how I think about blockchain, it would probably be Bittensor (TAO). Instead of mining Bitcoin…　Participants contribute intelligence. Developers submit machine learning models to the network. The best-performing models receive rewards in TAO. Think of it as an open marketplace where AI models compete based on the value they provide. The more useful your model is, the more you’re rewarded. It’s a fascinating concept because intelligence itself becomes a digital commodity instead of being locked inside large technology companies. Bittensor has emerged as one of the leading decentralized AI networks, rewarding contributors based on the usefulness of their machine learning outputs.
