Knight Gundam Monogatari (1990) – A Japanese Famicom RPG Gem

Welcome back to JP RETRO GAMES , where we discover classic Japanese video games and share their stories with the world!

For Series No.21, we’re exploring a unique RPG from the golden age of 8-bit gaming: SD Gundam Gaiden: Knight Gundam Monogatari , released for the Japanese Famicom in 1990.

⚔️ A Different Side of the Gundam Universe

When people think of Gundam, they often imagine giant robots and futuristic battles. Knight Gundam offers a different atmosphere, bringing the Gundam universe into a fantasy-inspired adventure filled with knights, monsters, and heroic battles.

Its distinctive SD-style characters give the game a memorable look, combining the familiar Gundam world with the feeling of a classic fantasy RPG.

🃏 The Charm of Carddas

One of the most interesting elements featured in our gameplay video is the card-related screen.

Card culture became a memorable part of the Japanese gaming and toy scene, and seeing Carddas represented in a Famicom game gives this title a special connection to that era.

For fans of retro gaming and Japanese collectibles, these details make the game worth discovering beyond its battles alone.
