東寺の終い弘法

東寺の終い弘法を紹介します。弘法大師の命日にちなみ、毎月21日、京都市にある東寺の境内では「弘法市」が大々的に開かれます。上の写真のように弘法市では骨董品や古着などの品を売る店がずらりと並びます。その年最後の祭典が「終い弘法」と呼ばれこの１年間で無病息災を感謝して最もにぎやかなフリーマーケットが開かれます。ある人には無用の物でも他の人には十分に役立つ品物になることがあるんですね。昔から今のリサイクルのような仕組みが行われていたことに驚きました。少し古くなったらすぐ捨ててしまう現代の私たちにも考えさせられることがありそうです。◇ 英訳 ◇ ------------------------------------------------------Shimai Koubou (flea market in Touji temple)We will see the Shimai Koubou in Touji. （you can see the pictures above↑）‘Koubou-ichi’(flea market) is widely held in Touji temple on the 21st of each month for praying for the KoubouTaishi’s soul of the dead.
